I've never twinked before so I wanted to try it out seeing as this server won't have dead bg's at the lower level brackets. So a couple of questions:
- Which are good twink classes that not many other people play? Or is it best to just roll a rogue / hunter at level 19?
- I don't have much gold (around 25g) on my main character so I can't spent much on my twinks gear (yet). Should I wait until I can afford BIS gear or is it possible to get decent gear for little to no gold?
- How active are the BG's? Only in the evening (EU time)? Or does it not matter?
- Which faction is in need of the most twinks or are there enough twinks that it really doesn't matter?
- Is there an active community? Which guilds are good to approach for twinking?
Thanks a lot.
Hey dude,
I would recommend playing at 29 instead. I didn't intend to twink or hang around at this level but have done so for a couple of weeks because the games are really fun. I guess I made about 15g levelling up and have spent that all on AH greens. You'll still be able to have fun and some good fights with this. If you come across a very heavily twinked opponent 1 on 1 you will lose (as I do, when you see a frostbolt hit someone and take off only 5% of their life, you think uhoh, better start running away!), but if you can accept that, you can still have good games and help out your team.
There is a fairly active community and one proper twink guild on each side, Almost Thirty on alliance, and Post Pwned on horde.
As mentioned I currently play only in AH greens with no proper enchants at this level and it's pretty fun. I never intended to stay but I've been caught up in the bracket for a couple of weeks because the games are quite good value.
On alliance side the queue is almost zero, on horde, can vary between 5-20 mins. Usually 1 game of WSG running and sometimes on busy nights an AB too.
Feel fee to play whatever class you enjoy, classes tend to come in cycles. I've been in games with 4 warriors my side, then 4 mages, so you can't predict what will be needed. Rogues remain popular as ever though. I have to say good warlocks are rarely seen, I guess because they are tricky to play.
