The factional pvp-communities (discussion)

Hey all! Just making this quick post regarding world-pvp and how one-sided it is.
I assume not a lot of people understand the core/history to why Horde generally has a more active pvp-community, for those interested here's a good read with some semi-factual links and more :) http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/534914-world-of-warcraft/69626231 So take your time to read this! Good. It's essential for the discussion.

Yeah better get this out of the way too so no trolls pick up on this, it's not a rant post or anything,
I enjoy the constant pvp-battle, ganking/ganked is a part of PvP and the game. However, as most alliance members who have leveled up on this server know, it's pretty much one-sided on Nost.
I've checked some past threads regarding server-pop and they say it's about 50-50, perhaps in characters but not in active players.

Alliance players have it rough pretty much wherever they level and I don't need to mention STV even, which has been a battlefield in the hands of the Horde ever since May/June or perhaps even before, with high lvl hordes coming to rescue or helping out their lower members.
What I think is wee problematic, this type of (pvp)community does not exist within the alliance. And I mean anywhere. Alliance players helping out is generally not something we seen to the same extend. We stick to ourselves, with other goals in mind. Again I remind you to read my posted link if you haven't.

I'd like to hear anecdotal stories from both sides. What are your thoughts about this? Does it seem fair? Good or bad?
I personally encourage every player from both factions to battle, it's fun and how the game is meant to be played! :P
But I know I share the same feeling as many alliance I've seen lvling up, it feels very pointless at times when being outnumbered and overpowered.

Cheers all! Hoping this discussion can be as serious as possible.

I think you're view is warped. I have a 60 alliance and a lvl 40 horde character and on both i felt i saw equal amounts of ganking and rage in both general chats as to " why the fuck does [insert opposite faction] always have 60s to come help them" or " atleast the horde/alliance band together". both leveld through stv.

I have no horde-experience I shall say. But if we make a numbers-game about it, alliance players will agree on that horde usually:
1. oftener play/gank in a group
2. outnumber alliance in world-pvp
3. outlvl alliance in world-pvp

I do also think one thing differs, but this is just anecdotal from one horde-player. Basically it goes that alliance type in /1 when horde ganks and asks for help. Horde however (this is the anecdote) types in /1 the whereabouts of alliance FOR ganks.

I agree 100% in My 42 levels I have been ganked randomly by 60's non stop farmed by entire groups of Horde while Alliance stands around and does nothing and not been able to complete quests yet I walk by Horde and leave them alone one on one always because I know it's an endless cycle if You touch one there will be three if You manage to kill three next there will be a 60 I NEVER see that on Alliance yet alone any help.

I can confirm that horde usually types wherabouts of alliance players that are being dicks. Easier to track them down or avoid if you're lowbie yourself.

World-pvp was fun when Nost was just started in spring. Now it's mostly short bus passengers picking on lowbies.

Inb4 shitty ganker comes in like "BUT PVP SERVER LELE XD". Yea pvp server, thats why when someone of equal or greater level comes to attack you, you run away until they're gone? K

I suggest you try leveling up horde if you want the opposing faction's perspective.

While you might still think horde "dominate" world pvp, you'll quickly realize there are lots of ganking by players out of your level range no matter which faction you play.

You mention std for ally (its moderately bad for horde as well), but you didn't mention hillsbrad at all, which is a horrendous leveling experience for horde. Just search for the guild Hillsbrad Homosexual Gank Squad or something.

Honestly, I always despised the vanilla pvp system. It was a good concept, but then they made DKs relevant in as far as it kills real pvp (raiding capital cities to kill faction leaders). There simply should have been a two flag system. You flag for pvp in which you can attack or be attacked by anything within 5 levels of you, and then you have to flag "unrestricted pvp" for pvp against anything 5 or 10 levels above your level. That would have made much more sense than the retarded dk system. But really, that's a criticism of vanilla and not of notstralius. You got to take the good with the bad when playing on a vanilla server like this.

I just dinged 60 on my horde mage a few days ago. From my experience I got ganked so so many times right from the moment I left barrens and until around level 40. After that ganks still happen, but at a lower rate.

This just seems like one of those "the grass is alwayes greener on the other side"

My way of mentally surviving the chain ganks was to get vanas kos addon and enter every single person who ganked me before level 60. And one day I will run into them again and get revenge.

Oh Vanas Kos seems interested :)
Not that it's OnT but no version exists that functions. Neither versions from vanilla-addons.com or the zip from addons.akensai.com sadly.

I just googled vanas kos 1.12.1 and mine works, I don't remember where I downloaded it from though.
