Multi-que in levelling brackets

Multi-que in levelling brackets

by goblite » Sat Sep 19, 2015 9:00 pm

I started only about 2 months ago on this server so i only know a little of what kind of madness was happening to incite these measures in the first place, but I feel like recent blanket changes cause more problems than they fix. Since the changes went into effect, only WSG games happen in the 20's bracket. I imagine this is because wsg requires only 10 players and always seems to be going on- players would rather be playing than waiting. Low level players want to que for battlegrounds, and accept the first one that pops, but it is less exciting to que only for wsg because you know that AB probably won't happen. Rather than waiting around for 10+ minutes or playing monotonous strings of wsg games, one might as well be out levelling and thus, fewer games happen overall.

Frankly i don't have a well thought out suggestion for fixing max level pvp, but please compartmentalize whatever measures are taken to affect only that which is broken. Else, you risk breaking more as i have observed with the 20's bracket. I suggest that multi-que be allowed again in all levelling brackets as soon as possible.

Just keep in mind that most players will almost always take the path of least resistance. Please try not to create resistance where it is not called for.

The only reason no one queues is because it's a rapefest. Horde always win anything before 60.

This has definitely been their most jarring change yet. Not being able to play AB in lower brackets is extremely annoying.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that is the reason why nobody ques. Before the change I enjoyed a handful of AB games with quick que times. I still beleive it is a matter of convenience.

I think it makes sense to allow multiqueueing for all brackets below 51 or possibly 60.

Only the honor whores abuse the system and I never personally had an issue with the battlegrounds until I hit 60.

You really think they can turn on multiqueue based on level ranges? I should make a list of all the reported bugs since release that could each be fixed by changing a single value.

This is most definitely an issue with lower brackets. Hopefully AB will be played on AB weekends, but still those are few and far between.

Coding is never a simple thing, but i do understand a little about it. Very likely, disabling multi-que across the board simply added a condition to queing function. You click join battle, the function checks to see if you are already in que, if yes, then the function ends, if not, then the function puts you in que. Add another step to the function: You click join battle, the function checks your level, if <60 it puts you in the que, if 60 then it checks to see if you are already in que, if yes it ends, if no it puts you in que.

In practice it's likely considerably more difficult than that, but no less doable if it's the right solution.

Also, i stand corrected, horde raped all weekend in AB.
