Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I was lucky enough to farm a Pendulum of Doom. I was wondering what the best PVP class would be to twink at 39 to use it? I'll be rolling on Horde, so my choices are either a Warrior or a Shaman. I don't have much experience with the bracket so I was looking for some opinions on which class performs better at 39? From my point of view:

Shaman Pros:
[*]Windfury crits will be amazing

Shaman Cons:
[*]Easily kited
[*]Weird/Bad itemization in vanilla. Not much strength leather gear.
[*]Damage dependant on RNG

Warrior Pros:
[*]Better itemization and fairly easy to gear at 39
[*]Probably more survivable with mail

Warrior Cons
[*]No Mortal Strike until 40, leads to fury spec / improved slam? I'm not sure how well this translates for pvp
[*]Also Easily Kited

All that said, I have no clue which is better. Any help would be appreciated.

fury war, duh. wf totem if youre horde, holy pally if youre ally.

i would say shaman would be a great choise for this thing

Reroll ally, make a reckoning paladin and have fun oneshotting everyone in STV.

As a warrior, with Enrage + Death Wish and the Berserker buff from BGs you could crit for a very high number with this weapon. If you were lucky and get it to proc at the same time, it could mean the end of someone fighting you.

Whirlwind hits like a truck with this weapon because the damage is weapon based, the same goes for Slam, it does weapon based + X damage, and mind you, this attack isn't normalized, so on a slow weapon like Pendulum of Doom, the high swing timer is a bonus for slam's damage, which is quite high.

Just as a reference, mind you, my math might be outdated on this, but back when I was testing this stuff:

damage = base_weapon_damage + (weapon_speed * Attack Power / 14)

This was the formula for non-normalized attacks, so you see it would multiply with 4.0 (PoD's swing timer) instead of a normalized instant attack, which I believe for a two-handed weapon was 3.3, 0.7 lower than a non-normalized attack.

I didn't know slam wasn't normalized. To be fair, pretty sure windfury isn't normalized yet either, but windfury totem warrior > enh sham.

That's correct, Windfury also isn't normalized. But I'm biased towards warriors, so that's why I made the post more about that. WF Shaman is just as strong with this weapon, I suppose it's all just a matter of preference.

Having to blow 5 talent points just to make Slam cast time 0.5 seconds faster ain't worth it imho - either a Shaman with Windfury or a Paladin using Seal of Command would make the most use of the 4.0 swing speed because both of those attacks are not normalized.

Hands down, a Reck spec Paladin would get the most use BY FAR!!!

That's true, but he said that he will be rolling Horde, so a paladin is out of the question in this matter.
