Warlock or shadow priest pvp

Im thinking in leveling an alter, i´ve always played melee classes, and now i ´ve decided that its time to try a caster.

I find mages pretty good, but maybe too squishy, so im trying to chose between warlock and shadow priest. (i dont talk about shamans because i know if i level one ill try to go enhancement)

I know the common answer, play what you like most... thats the problem, i havent tryed any of them (both leveled to lvl 10 or so)

So maybe you can help me.

Things i take into consideration.
- 1 vs 1 fights.
- survival in pvp, specially against rogues ( since i guess they are one of the worst nightmares for casters)
- Killing potential
- Skill cap
- gear dependance
- hard or easy to get good gear (talking about dungeons and raids)
- pvp set utility (since is probably what im going to aim for)
- Pve set utility (maybe i get this, im already in a decent guild)

I dont mind much being spected whatever is needed for a couple of months in order to get better gear for the future ( specc healing for the priest or destro for the warlock or whatever)

Thanks for your point of views

P.S. Ill be horde, Of course :P

warlock has a higher skillcap imo due to pet control (devour/spell lock) the deciding factor imo is whether you care about giving up a bag for a soul pouch. im a packrat with my bagspace and playing lock would destroy me. also you need to always have shards ready for shadowburn. if that doesnt bother you, i would go warlock. if you are set on being horde, orc is by far the stronger race due to bullshit stun resist to clown on rogues. personally i would only play spriest if i were a dwarf, viper sting is too annoying imo.

That's kind of an odd deciding factor :P

If anything, the key is whether or not you want to be raiding alongside your PvP. If you do, warlock is definitely the best choice as you can have one spec that's fine in both PvE and PvP. Shadow priests are basically not really a thing in PvE at this point in time, although raids might start bringing one once ZG opens as that patch expands the debuff limit from 8 to 16. Even then, one shadow priest per raid means you won't get to raid as shadow unless you know the right people. You'll be able to raid as holy, but that means respeccing every other day and that's expensive.

Spriest is much easier to play and is really powerful 1v1

as a warlock especially as horde and as content and gear progresses u will become insanely OP if you can Learn to manage pet and and your own abilities well.

Thanks for answers guys, ill probably try priest, seems to be a good character. If its easier it would fit perfect for me since i have never played caster... and also i like the opportunity to try healer if i get bored of shadow.
