Amount of players engaged in standings

Amount of players engaged in standings

Hi!

Does anyone keep count of how many player engage in standings each week?

I see on realmplayers horde had at least 11246 last week. And I think the week before that it was 12000 something. Is there any way to see history?

I don't think there's any way to track the history, one way is to get a character and get 15 honorable kills per week (preferably in AV, which makes your honor gain as low as possible and then just check your standing for previous week). I think it's roughly 11 to 14k depending on weeks.

Additionally, there was (supposedly) a second requirement to be eligible for standing back on retail vanilla (however, i do not know how we could test and see if this factors into Nostalrius, because I'm nearly positive the standing to rp ratio is not anywhere near close to blizzlike (For example: I don't think stacking players at near the same cp would yield a similar rp gain for those players as I have not been able to find any evidence of the sort from investigations done on retail).

In any case, I'll quote the original blizzard website from the way back machine on Auguts 4th 2005:

There are three steps in calculating and adjusting your Rank:

1. Excluding those with too few kills from the pool.

a. Those with less than 25 Honorable Kills will not be included in the calculations this week, and their points for the week will be 0.
b. A cut-off is calculated based on the number of Honorable Kills made by all characters of your faction this week. Those having less Honorable Kills than this cut-off (but at least 25 Honorable Kills) will not be included in the calculations this week, but their points for the week will be enough to at least attain or keep Rank 1.

this essentially means (or should mean) that even if you get the 15 hks, you will get a standing, but you won't actually be included in the total number of players who achieved standing because you did not achieve a high enough ratio of your hks to the total number of hks earned for your faction.

This week realmplayers tracked back to 11372 standing.
My standing of 47 last week gave me 11149 RP points before decay.

That would mean only about 7k standings would count in the race. I guess the other 4k got too little honor per HKs?
