Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

I want to quote an earlier post of mine:

Alterac Valley and turtling is against all logic.

You get 1K rep and 4.5K Honor on AV weekends for winning and it takes you 35 mins to run one AV if everyone cooperates.

Defending a GY adds 10 mins to a game Minimum.

Defending a tower adds 10 mins to a game Minimum.

If you Defend all your towers and GY's yet manage to kill all the enemies towers and cap all their GY's you add at most 500 Rep and at least another 1K honor sometimes 2.5K honor if youre HK farming.

Lets break this down. 4 towers per faction, 3 GY per faction. You defending all your GY and Towers adds 10 * 4 + 10 * 3 for a total of 1H10M to a game Minimum + 35 mins for a full well-oiled game. 1H45M in total.

Turtle: 1500Rep/105 for 14.3 rep per min.
Turtle 5500 Honor/105 for 52.3 honor per min in the worst case scenario and 7000Honor/105 for 66.6 in the best case scenario

Blitz: 1000Rep/35 for 28.8 rep per min.
Blitz: 4500 Honor/35 is 128.6 honor per min

As you can see, turtling EVEN if you win with the turnin of 100 rep/3marks is STILL below that of Blitz scenarios even if you factor in a 7000 honor game.

So, start bitchin across your factions and point them to this post. Numbers dont lie, peoples "But I get HK's and more honor/Rep" IS a lie.

I think you fail to realize a lot of ppl are also queuing AV for herbs/ores/fishing or for fun.

That being said, your whole honor ratio calculations won't matter much for all the

- People who are queuing AV for herbs and ores. You'll get at least around 10ish ppl who will race for the possible black lotus at start of every fresh AV. Thus, your initial assault will be so weak that couple mages in def will stop you long enough to make half your assault team give up.

- Legolasxxx and Vurtnexd who swear by number of KBs and enjoy grinding HKs (regardless of the honor they gain from it) in turtle AVs.

And to be honest, I would do the same if my main was hunter or mage. I bet they're having a blast playing AV like it should be played (AKA hour long games) while you're only there for honor/rep grind.

Those long games are fine and how AV is supposed to be. But people need to save those long games for non-AV weekends.

you do realise that some players are already exalted and don't care about rep anymore. They want to have FUN
oh god what have I done I used the word "fun"
and if everyone in av gets low honor per hour it evens out for everyone who plays av, you know how the honor system works, right?
