Is there application for development staff?
From revenue recommendations to code and gameplay improvements, I have a strong interest in assisting where I can.
I've been looking at various aspects of the server - mostly from Twitch and starting zone related items.
A few examples of things I've noticed:
- Ragnaros (and most likely all Bosses as a whole) aren't as challenging as they should be. [Moderate geared raid of 40 nearly raced the submerge timer, raid damage they were taking seemed severely low, DPS seemed slightly high]. Could be a matter of Ragnaros's defenses - as the health looks to match; or an issue with raw player damage. But these types of quality concerns do have an effect on the server's atmosphere.
- Warrior charges don't work properly, an issue that seems to have links to movement speed increases as w hole. While an improvement to the original private server build, player movement speed increases are not a matter of speeding up the animation itself. It is moving the player at a faster rate, but retaining the animation speed.
- Regen rates seems slightly too slow. Mostly noticeable in Rogue Energy, but also in caster mana - health appears to be fine. I'm not sure what the algorithm for Rogue Energy is taking into account for Nostalrius's target WoW Era, however, as-is Energy regen is roughly at it's slowest in retail history. Around Naxxramas, energy ticks should be 20 energy per 2 seconds. I'm measuring variable tick rates, from 2.1 to 2.5.
** Edit: Rogue's combo points (presumably Druid Cat Form as well) do not show the unit should it die before points are used.
- Patch notes don't specify changes, merely "x issue is fixed". More detailed or specific patch notes help players understand changes and know what to expect - I'd be willing to help write patch notes, however, I am only fluent in English.
There are a handful of other issues, mostly quality related - nothing game-breaking yet. But as you are wanting to move to other servers and expansions, I feel I could provide a substantial amount of improvement to gameplay and in-game quality of life.
My C++ knowledge is limited, but I'm familiar with C#, Java, and programming concepts. I could make code contributions and reviews immediately.
Please, let me know where you stand and if my offer is of interest to you.
Thank you
