Increased Draw Distance

Hey so is there any way in the future to increase the player draw distance? At least in battlegrounds I remember being able to see a really long way. In the future of the server is this a possibility?

This is usually the thing that kills most suggestions. If it was in vanilla you'll have to prove it and post on bugtracker.
I know stuff like camera distance and angle can be changed with commands. Don't know if there are commands like that for other options

view distance is intentionally cut by devs to increasse performance of server in order to reduce the laggs.
Laggs are here cuz of huge population.
You can't see far cuz of laggs.

I just pray for 2nd pvp realm to be opened so we can have normal view distance and no laggs in peak hours.

As much as I like the idea of increased draw distance I worry what new servers splitting the population might do over time. Right now we have a lot of people, but when BC comes out the numbers could dwindle. If there are two pvp realms the potential for these realms becoming underpopulated is high when they are split into two. Whereas right now we have a healthy population and could continue strongly into BC even after losing a lot of people.

Would obviously be ideal to have increased draw distance all on one server haha

imagine what happens with the AQ opening? 5k players on one map is gonna be fun

to answer OP's question: they are working on performance and as performance increases they can increase the viewing distance, however with such a load of players it's extremely difficult

Lots of whining here. Devs know its an issue, and the reduction in draw distance is temporary until tjey optimize their network and coding further. Let them work instead of expecting it to be perfect righr away.

Best temporary solution right here, since March 20, 2015. I know well that the server's population has doubled since then, but well, the draw distance is worse than ever before nowadays. Nostalrius should definitely start an active fundraiser campaign if it cannot afford to either make the current server capable of handling this insane population or to create an additional PvP server to split the population - since the PvE server idea has obviously proven to be inefficient.
