AV here on Nost is making me hate AV

AV too is now my fav BG to play. Esp since I maximized the rep gain to exalted for it over it's holiday weekend after it was released, so I can play it and enjoy sniping fools in mid, from hills, behind walls/fences with impunity while summoning the Orc Wolf Marines to push the front!

Acutally it's exactly as much fun before you are exalted as long as you do not only play to get rep but to have fun, rep will come over the weeks, not like you are in a hurry lol

AV's only problem is mentality people have. This battleground was designed with massive battles in mind, it has a lot of clearly defined chokepoints to fight at, and has many features to assist one or the other side in fighting. It even has vendors, thus providing people with means to fight for hours and hours in same battlground. That's how it was in retail Vanilla.

But now, what people have in mind isn't pointless fighting, but rather rep/HK grinding. People come here because they want to claim rewards rep vendor has to offer, and to obtain rep in maxium efficient way people rush north/south, ignore the opposite side, essentially treating AV as a PvE race. Naturally, this shit isn't fun at all. And to make matters worse, it makes long, epic battles completely undesired, to the point where people get upset and leave if the BG lasts longer than they'd like to. Why? Because it's not "efficient". See, that's the problem with players nowadays. This has been literally the same on previous vanilla server I've played, and of course it happened here again.

Since premading AV isnt possible no premade cares for it and not many will play it after they got the reputation. The great honor turn in is a super slow honorgain compared to just run AB or WSG with a prem, probably even if you just pug it.

I mean think about it, you turn in 3 of each which is round about 1,2k if you turn them in solo. So you basically double the value of you marks in terms of honor.

5 Capping AB takes 5 min with a good prem, playing wsg 3:0 is 10 mins. Winning one av is 1-15h?

Farming the other BGs during Av weekends will still be like 3 times as fast in terms of honor gain.

Idk since the banhammers on ppl that did premades to AV its no more a "blizzlike" server for me which is, dont get me wrong, totally fine. But id really apprechiate it if the server can take a big step away from the "blizzlike" AV experiance.

Having it in a state as it was when TBC hitted , that would be nice. Thanks for your attention.

This is why I quit.

I put up with the terrible grind to 60 to play sweet sweet classic AV. I used to play AV all day everyday all the way till LK before it got a supply limit put in and I had a blast.

When AV launched here I was hyped as hell and was so excited to play. I got in and was prepared for massive PvP and craziness. I see "ALL RUSH NORTH" and I got so furious. I get flamed if I defend and cause a turtle.

I have since then quit Nos and have Zero desire to play now. With the way AV is just proves to me that the majority of the player base are not original WoW players and are the new generation of WoW plays that are mirroring what people do in live WoW in AV. I've had this hunch from just talking to people while leveling and hearing the most ridiculousness things that were nowhere close to being correct but ignored it.

The AV zerg put the nail in the coffin. I seen Alliance win in 8 mins and my jaw dropped I understand people are exploiting the boss pull but jesus the fact that it's not even close to scripted after being on PTR for so long just blows my mind.

You gotta play it every day. They added some more patching and what you describe is so... last week.
No boss exploiting now. No rushing (you'll get wtfpwned by land mines). I'm not sure it's balanced; it seems tilted toward Horde at the moment. But it's definitely not a zerg rush to the boss game now.

The biggest problem AV has is that it's rare for a group of 40 people to actually work together to accomplish strategic goals. But that's not a problem with the BG - it's more a problem that people need to be re-trained how to play AV.
