People are so blinded by nostalgia that they don't understand the gravity of this situation. Yes, let's keep it as blizzlike and vanilla as possible, but I want to actually play the game, not sit around waiting for kobolds to respawn only to have them tagged by some dude. It doesn't make the game harder, it makes the game un-freaking-playable.

I have a level 10 druid that took me 8 HOURS to get to; that's insane! I didn't get enough XP from the early areas because I had to 5-man group all of the quests and when I finished all of the quests I was lvl 9 with no bars. I grinded all of level 9 just killing mobs. Im in Darkshore right now as a level 10, and there are still so many people that I get maybe 1 quest mob every 2 minutes.

This isn't an exaggeration, this is a problem, and it has a simple answer: raise spawn rate. And for all of you with the blizzlike boner, Blizzard actually had to do this before. There were too many people at the launch of BC so they implemented a thing where mobs spawned more quickly the more people were in the area. I'm not even asking for something as complex as that, I just want like 3x respawn rate until like (and I'm ballparking here)... Tuesday? I love vanilla WoW, I'm getting a bunch of my friends to play this server. The work the Nostalrius staff has done is phenomenal and besides the shitty shitty spawn rate, this is the best vanilla server I've played on, and I've played on a lot of them.

It's not playable. And i imagine what it will be like for quest chests to respawn.... like 30 minutes respawntime... Buccaneers cards in Strangle, hell that'll be fun with 3k players :D

That's not blizzlike, it's just stupid.

Just deal with it like the rest of us did. Grab a couple people in a party and go grind somewhere remote. If you can't deal with it, then wait.

The point of threads like this is that we're trying to make the game better and smoother for everyone. We really like the server and want to play on it but we can't do anything because the mob density and quest item density is not even close to proportional to the playerbase. Dealing with it isn't going to help this game, and waiting will only slightly help. If you adjust spawn timers, it doesn't make this game any worse.

In short, we're asking the devs if they will let us play their game.... because when I get on I'm not playing, I'm waiting for mobs to spawn and hope to tag them. That's not the "vanilla experience," no matter what anyone says, that's just a bad game. Vanilla had it's flaws and I accept that, but this is a rectifiable and totally fixable situation, and we can do it without breaking the game.

People can be straight up daft when a group mentality sets in... There is an easy fix for this issue and you just blindly keep championing in the name of the "blizzlike experience" when it was not even remotely like this

The other problem comes with collection quests. FOR SOME REASON, at least from what I've been seeing, mobs are literally dropping only 1 of their quest item save for rare occurances like the Scarlet Messenger Guy who drops enough for the whole party.

Now remember how Warlocks have a class quest that requires them to get skulls (Deathknell version..)?

yes it's actually true, i played in vanilla blizz back in the day and respawn in starting zones was pretty high in case of this scenarios. The funny part is that poeple playing right now thinks it's ok just like it's, but its NOT.

Actually this is really important and no shit this needs a permanent fix imo. With the rate at which most of these items spawn, only about 280 people will be able loot it in a 24 hour period. I honestly don't see a problem with relatively instant respawn for this. It's honestly not like it breaks immersion and if this is your concept of "Difficult Content" or "The Vanilla Struggle," you're thinking of a shitty, shitty game.
