[Serious Discussion] Create Asian PvP server

From the way viewtopic.php?f=46&t=30692&start=110 got shut down it seems like Nostalrius administration isn't even willing to admit that there's a huge problem with the server community right now.

Barring the accusations of botting and gold-selling which can indeed be deemed offensive and racist, there are still some objective truths:
Most of the Chinese can't communicate with other players
All players are still put into the same world with them, and having to level with people you can't understand will always be a very unpleasant experience
The Chinese minority on this server is very, very sizeable, their numbers are enough to populate a separate server

If a separate PvP server with mandatory transfers for Chinese would be opened, it would benefit the entire playerbase. Ordinary players would enjoy better viewrange and less lag thanks to lesser population of the main server, while not really losing any players who could've grouped up with them. Chinese would have a server for themselves with no foreigners to change their chat passwords and be racists in all the other ways. It's a win-win for everyone.

We just have to hope they have plans for the influx of our new overlords.

This is a wonderful idea Robotron, except it would mean none of the chinese players could access their realm because all of them connect through vpn.

People are gonna talk shit on the internet as long as they remain anonymous, it's pretty much a fundamental law of the internet at this point. I'm not trying to excuse peoples racism but that is just the way it is. All we can do is look at the message behind all of it:
No one enjoys the Chinese presence on the server. We can try to sugarcoat it by saying "The east asians who doesn't speak english" but what difference does it make except it may come off as more PC.

stop with that narrow mind , there are cz/sk , russian , latino people etc . they also speak foreign too and nobody mind or care , there are also chinese people that talk english and no problem either .

Fix the lag , not the chinese , chinese people are not problem at all and they make the server how it is currently , great server with many people from different minds and aspect around the world. !

1.Nostalrius is an English based server with rules about posting on the forums, talking in world/trade chat in English.

Yes Chinese people respect this rule so they have their own channel for this reason /join china

2.Many of the Asian based players speak zero to little English.

Many eastern europeans based players doesn't speak english too , and there are chinese people who talk english and playing in our guilds with us.

3.Asian players have been forced to create their own "underworld" of chat channels to communicate with each other effectively. They can't communicate with 80% of the server while leveling, playing battlegrounds, forming dungeon groups, trading items, etc.

It is their own choice and they decide not to speak or party with english , they still respect the server rules and no point to argue against this .

4.Asian players have now surpassed US based players in population.

US is not the world , they are just tiny states united and are lesser than 10% of the world population.

Lag with EU, US, and Asian players all online at the same time has become unplayable. We can expect this number of players at all major launches of new raids and events, thus ruining the release experience of all involved. There are plenty of guilds that have scheduled raid times during peak hours who are forced to either not do their scheduled raid or struggle through lag until the end.

Lag is not caused from this , it is all about server performances and paid bandwitch they use , today with all that optical internet this is just history and there will never be any lag .

It is all about server not able to handle 7+ k people , it is not asia problem.

There are likely enough Asian players to support a server of similar size to the PvE server.

If Asian players gone , the server will remain empty with barely 3k people under the pve server that nostalrius got.

a server with 3k ppl playing is hardly "empty". also what good does it do us to have a server with 10k ppl if you cannot even communicate with them. walk around ironforge. i dare you. if you walk a straight line you will me 10 chinamen before meeting anyone else.

not a day goes by i log on to spot a NEW china guild. EVERY DAY. they're mulitplying so heavily that this server will die eventually.

of corse the chinks don't care, they already have a 700 ms ping, so they will eventually force ppl out of here. i wonder if other servers have to deal with this kind of shit.

Way to misinterpret everything
Of-fucking-course every Chinese player creates as much lag as you and I. But they are different from us.
They do not communicate with us. They already have a separate community. Yet they have to play on same server as us because they have no other option.

When they play with us, everybody loses. We English-speaking people can't understand them. When we meet them in the world over a quest we both need, when we meet them in a battleground, when we get them in our dungeon groups, we cannot play together. World of Warcraft is a social game. It matters who you play with, it really does. That's why if the language barrier cannot be overcome, segregation is the only choice.

Of course there's many Russians and such who can't speak English too. But not nearly as many. Yes, everyone gets upset when they get a Cykablyat in their party who spams cyrillic. But their numbers are far, far less than those of the Chinese players And therefore, odds of grouping up with one are much lower. The Chinese are everywhere. Yesterday I've sit at Nesingwary's Camp in STV and counted lowbies with Chinese names/guilds, with realmplayers.com open in a tab to confirm it. Per every non-Chinese low level I've seen at least 2 or 3 Chinese.

The amount of Chinese players who will never integrate into the English community is too much to ignore. They deserve a server of their own. It's stupid to bind them by the existing rules of "English language only". Let them have their own realm, where they can feel like home, not like fucking refugees and exiles they are here. And if they will go, the realm we're playing on will drop to 5k peak at worst, which is already twice the capacity of a vanilla server. Nostalrius peaked at 5k in March/April and it was totally fine. The server split must be done if this server is to have a healthy community.
