Robotron Ghostly i cant disagree thats a good idea, do like me, if everyone donate 10$ maybe NosTeam will be able to solve the problem by creating a third server (chinese or not) i think that turn the pve server on pvp would be cool also :P . IMO i would be glad to give my money in order to improve game experience of China ppl if it can improve my own experience.
Also if you open a new server or turn in pvp the pve serv i would be glad to join it immediatly :)))

bye bye !!

Of-fucking-course every Chinese player creates as much lag as you and I. But they are different from us.
They do not communicate with us. They already have a separate community. Yet they have to play on same server as us because they have no other option.

I have already pointed , you are not alone and it is choice , you can choose to party with others and you can choose to party with your own , unless you realize that english is just optional by choice and not mandatory to use privacy in party or /w or /s.

As long it is with server rule , no point to bother . If they needed to be in Chinese server , there are tons of Chinese privacy servers around .

Their choice is to be in this server and you can't forbid that only because they don't speak english and they keep with server rules.

Solution = go party with those that speak English and stop complaining . You are not alone .

When they play with us, everybody loses. We English-speaking people can't understand them. When we meet them in the world over a quest we both need, when we meet them in a battleground, when we get them in our dungeon groups, we cannot play together. World of Warcraft is a social game. It matters who you play with, it really does. That's why if the language barrier cannot be overcome, segregation is the only choice.

- Then don't play with them , make your own premade , make your group , play with english speakers , nobody force you on anything.
- You can do same as the chinese does , if you combine EU + USA = majority population as English speaking , which mean you still have choice.
- I never got problems with Chinese , if i want to party i simple use world chat , guild chat , friends chat that i can use english language .

Of course there's many Russians and such who can't speak English too. But not nearly as many. Yes, everyone gets upset when they get a Cykablyat in their party who spams cyrillic. But their numbers are far, far less than those of the Chinese players And therefore, odds of grouping up with one are much lower. The Chinese are everywhere. Yesterday I've sit at Nesingwary's Camp in STV and counted lowbies with Chinese names/guilds, with realmplayers.com open in a tab to confirm it. Per every non-Chinese low level I've seen at least 2 or 3 Chinese.

So what ? only because they are many you got angry ? ofc you have pve server if you don't like overpopulated server.

The amount of Chinese players who will never integrate into the English community is too much to ignore. They deserve a server of their own. It's stupid to bind them by the existing rules of "English language only". Let them have their own realm, where they can feel like home, not like fucking refugees and exiles they are here. And if they will go, the realm we're playing on will drop to 5k peak at worst, which is already twice the capacity of a vanilla server. Nostalrius peaked at 5k in March/April and it was totally fine. The server split must be done if this server is to have a healthy community.

I never said that they should not be allowed to have Chinese server . The point is that there are hundreds of chinese servers and projects around , those people decide to play in English server . Why ? Because it is their choice.

Chinese people is not an issue if Nostalrius can't handle more than 5k people , this is server problem , it is not chinese problem.

Smilk, I get what you're saying, but even the TOU states:

Communicating in-game with other users and Nostalrius staff members, whether by text or any other method, is a fundamental element of the Game.

If a large segment of the population is unable or unwilling to communicate in the officially supported language, then it breaks down a FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENT of an MMO.

Having segregated communities within a realm is NOT an appropriate solution. Having players that play here RESPECT the fundamental elements of this server is paramount to a good community.

I don't know how you reasonably solve or police it but I can see how this is becoming more of a major issue when our demographics are getting watered down by players who don't respect the principles of the ToU.

I like lists. I've tried to be as objective as possible and not make value judgements either way, so let's list some of the frequently proposed solutions and their pros and cons in this post:

Proposed fix #1:
A new PvP server, with no nationality restrictions; but possibly with a population cap, possibly with temporary restrictions on the creation of new accounts on the old PvP server, possibly with voluntary one-way PvP1 -> PvP2 account/character transfer.

Pros:
- No one gets their feelings hurt
- Second-least work-intensive
- The current "melting pot" server culture is maintained, but hopefully without any one group being too demographically dominant
- Population on both servers remains high enough that grouping for PvE or PvP content, buying and selling items and resources, or simply finding someone to chat with continues to be relatively fast and simple.

Cons:
- Ineffective communicators will still be encountered, though hopefully less often.
- Will probably require newer and more powerful server hardware.
- Some people may not like the lower (compared to the current, although still higher than retail vanilla) population.

Proposed fix #2:
A new PvP server, restricted to users from China and/or other East Asian countries with large playerbases, possibly with forcible migration of accounts/characters.

Pros:
- Ensures that players on the English server will never encounter Chinese/East Asian players and vice versa.

Cons:
- Work intensive. Due to China's repressive internet policies, most players connecting from there use VPNs which usually appear to be connecting from EU/NA. This means we'd need intensive vetting of all connections to the server. Automatic VPN/proxy detection is unreliable at best and much of it will have to be done by hand.
- Is discriminatory. Could seem like a punishment aimed at players whose only "crime" was wanting to play Vanilla WoW while being Chinese.
- Will likely require the same newer and more powerful server hardware as proposed solution #1.
- If Chinese is the sole official language of server channels, will require the recruitment of additional GMs and server staff who are fluent in both Chinese and English (so that they can communicate both with the Chinese playerbase and the dev team)

Proposed fix #3:
LOL ITS FINE JUST DEAL WITH IT NERD

Pros:
- Least work intensive, no one has to actually do anything.

Cons:
- The population of a server which already has nearly 5 times the amount retail vanilla servers were capped at continues to grow exponentially.
- Inter-player communication and social cohesion breaks down. Players become increasingly unwilling to group, trade, and communicate with players not from their in-group.
- Resources with a non-fixed supply become next to worthless as supply far outstrips demand due to an increased population farming it
-Resources with a fixed supply become increasingly scarce as an ever-growing population competes over a supply intended for somewhere between a fifth and a tenth of the current playerbase.
- Many players become frustrated with Nostalrius and move to other private server projects or quit playing altogether.
you think it be like it is but it's don't

Something needs to be done thats for sure. Either better hardware, or a new server. Overpopulation is the real issue, and it has lead to huge delays and lag spikes that dont go away. I used to get little to no delay on off peak times, but now ANYTIME I play there are 1-2 second delays. This has been getting worse and worse, over 1-2 months. This includes 3 AM, 9AM, anytime.

This server is without a doubt growing, and we can't ignore it anymore. Something has to be done or else the server will continue to get worse and worse, and people will start leaving. We should not have 1-2 second delays 24/7 when we are trying to play, its miserable.

If the server continues to grow, and the performance keeps decreasing at this rate, this server will be in trouble. It is already unplayable. We need to start a petition, along with a gofundme or some time of fundraiser and show the devs how much money we would be willing to donate just so that we can fix this god forsaken lag and delay.

I would pay 100 USD just so that I can play on this awesome server with no lag. I'm sure there are lots of others who would donate aswell.

This is not a new problem is the private server community, its happened many times before.

Blocking the Chinese clients and their VPN IPs is the only solution.

I really cannot believe as I read the OP. Are you a German from back then (sic) and you talk like this? They have made their own channel just to not annoy people like you, and you do not like it? Chinese can be annoying as much as you can be. If you do not like the lag, go to a less populating server. This is the solution, not ask from owners to remove players from a specific region for you to play comfortably.
