No it has nothign to do with racism directly, but would be in harsh conflict with like a dozen of other basic rights and liberties that I can think off right of the bat. (Even banning them is only racist if its solely due to them being chinese and not whateverrace-goldsellers).
Like of course this isnt real life so nobody cares that much about stuff like that and its completely up to the management if they want to enforce any sort of basic rights and liberties within their actions.
But forced migration is a harsh bit to start off with, it shouldnt be too hard to make the majority of the chinese population migrate anyway by making the new server more appealing for them.

But then again who is gonna aquire chinese speaking devs... I dont really see much hope for a chinese only project, but I would really appreciate a 2nd PvP server WITH transfers. Nobody who has already reached part of his goals will start over on a new server, it only attracts inactive players/new players.. See the PvE server.

Edit: Basically what the guy in the last post quoted goes along pretty well with my text wall here.

Actually, they are technically not even allowed to connect to services outside China. The Chinese that play here use VPN services to connect to the server. That's not allowed. They are breaching their own country's regulations by doing that, so their liberties & rights don't apply.

The majority of the chinese players wouldn't voluntarily migrate to another server. Because most of them are here for one thing and one thing only. Make RL money, ie powerleveling, gold selling & other services. Creating another server and hoping they would transfer isn't going to happen.

So the only way to approach this would be a forced migration.

Also to top it off, the Chinese aren't even allowed [according to their censorship & regulations] to play this version of the client. There's a reason why China has it's own company that handles everything retail WoW related. Up until a few years ago they were always an expansion behind the rest of the world, due to having to censor many things.

Don't get me wrong I'm not racist at all and I infact love me some asian women. However I'd like to play on this server "peacefully" without having to worry about constant lag, server over capacity, inflated economy and an almost impossible pvp ranking.

China is probably going to take over the world in a decade or two, so until then I'd prefer to play games without them invading already.

When in west internet is forbidden then all human rights are destroyed , when in east internet is forbidden then that is all fine.... ridiculous conclusion .

They use VPN to play with the world together same as we want to play with the world together .

They doesn't play here to make profit , ridiculous conclusion!

They are here to play with us and we want to play with them too .

Thank you.

Server lags have nothing connected with Chinese people.

Server lags are the mistake of nostalirus not limiting the server and not using better hardware . Thats all.

Noone ever said it isn't ridiculous, it's just a fact. They aren't allowed to because of their country I was merely stating a fact in my previous post.

smilkovpetko wrote:They use VPN to play with the world together same as we want to play with the world together .

Using a VPN to connect to the outside world, is again FORBIDDEN by THEIR government. And even if you're right that they actually want to play with the western world. Why don't they communicate with us in English? They use their own alphabet, which btw we can't even see in in-game chat. Most of them just play the game in their own "little bubble", ie they're only playing with other Chinese.

smilkovpetko wrote:They doesn't play here to make profit , ridiculous conclusion!

I never said all of them do. Just a majority of them do. Where do you think the phrase "chinese gold farmers" came from? Thin air? And oh the Chinese totally didn't camp black lotus all day, every day - before they dynamic respawn timers were implemented....

smilkovpetko wrote:They are here to play with us and we want to play with them too .

Again, no. Most of them seclude themselves to only play with other Chinese players.

smilkovpetko wrote:Thank you.

No, thank you! For your ridiculous statements.

You could leave stuff like this aside and Id believe that you arent biased because you like to stick your thingy into an asian womans vagina ;).

It might be true that most of them dont interact with the western players due to a language barrier but then again why wouldnt they be allowed to have their community here? I really dont get why its not enough for you to be able to communicate with 8k players at once and having to use hands+feet for the other 4k. Population issues aside there, for me its lag and delay, i cant but laugh at the people bringing up the "mmo argument" when you have a playerbase that big.

Well, as a native german who lives in Hong Kong: DONT BAN THE IP OTHERWISE IM FUCKED!!!

No seriously, i dont think its the fault of the chinese and i dont think that 80% or whatever are gold farmers. there are many reasons they dont communicate with us. e.g. some dont even have a keyboard with arabic letters like we have. And the amount of people who speak english are not even close to countrys in western europe. Its simply a lack of education.

The problem is that there is no population cap. The only solution is: 2nd pvp server with a cap and a free one way transfer from pvp1 to pvp2 as someone mentioned before.

And some people here should read their posts again, cant believe you all really think like that. pretty much racism here (and I say that as a german!)

Saddly somthing needs to be done about this, Trust me i'm not at all racist but this mass of people from anywhere is horrible and making the game on playable logging out to see? If lucky flightmasters is hard, but untill the GM's give us somthing that we can work with (This kind of shit does take time. I mean it's like the system, it can move slow. This isn't easy for higher ups to come up with a progressive plan with a snap of a finger) Although personally i do like the open up a server for a certian part of the playerbase. As an American i can tell you, i know how these chinese feel to get pinned up. During those early priv server days where hard on us, No one liked American's during those days and we couldn't host our own servers (Without them being Rp servers only or dead or poof mia in a few months) I've met a few people from China across different wow servers sure most don't speak english but i had a good friendship with one i met he spoke english very well slightly off on grammar but we talked about TV show's all the time and we farmed the hell outa pre raid BIS vanilla gear. It just really sucks that people from China don't act like they want to be part of the english speaking community (Maybe this is wrong, if anyone can prove me so please do.) Yes there are some, i've met a few here and i was stupidly happy, because that's how it should be, you don't need perfect english just enough for a "Yo Dungi? I cc this you tank that, k mark this." Etc But alot of them can't and that's whats hurting us I don't know how it is at the 60 scence but PVP it's sorta brutal most of them, i don't know... Do this weird Afk some do try but i'm still leveling (sorta.) So maybe they're different end game, i do like the different server idea, i think we should have a 5-6k lock on Each server new servers should eaither be a copy or start from the first patch. (I even rolled on the PVE server for the Pre 1.4 mounts... Only reason why :P)

Lol. "kill japs". Cool name, another one for the pile of "offensive Chinese names that GMs let slide forever because they don't speak Chinese"

(xiao means "small" and is a common part of Chinese nicknames. xiaoriben is a Chinese defamatory word for Japan and Japanese that just means "small Japan".)

There are two fundamental issues being discussed here:

1. What should be done about non-English speaking players
2. How to solve for overpopulation

Let's take them one at a time.

Non-English Speaking Players

The FAQ states the following:

English, english, and english. No other language shall be allowed on forum and public channels. It's an important rule to us, and we'll be very attentive to the behaviour of our players regarding this rule.

It is an important rule because the fundamental basis of playing an MMO is the social aspect, and you need to be able to communicate with your fellow players to achieve that. Is it good enough just to ban non-English from public channels? I really don't think so. We're frequently running into players questing, PvPing and/or dungeoning who cannot communicate in English. We can't get to know them. They're as personable as a Group Finder Drone from retail. It really does segregate the community.

What should be done?

- Ban non-English clients
- Ban non-English communication in private channels

Look, I wouldn't join a Russian-speaking private server and would completely acknowledge that my involvement waters down the cohesiveness of the community. Hey, I like the fact that this is an International Community, but if there is a communication barrier, it is a major negative.

Overpopulation

Some people say "ban China", but I don't think that's an appropriate course of action. I would focus on discouraging non-English players from participating, as discussed in the previous section.

If there was still overpopulation, I guess there are three things that could be done:

Do nothing

And perhaps that is the right approach. Look what happened to retail. They added a bunch of servers and then a good chunk of them became ghost towns, with players flocking back to the mega-servers. With TBC being planned and a WoW retail expansion, maybe they shouldn't water down the population and just suffer the short-term pain

Queue System

Cap the active players at 10K. This seems reasonable to preserve non-laggy gameplay. It does run the risk of losing players to other servers.

Add Another Realm

It costs money, more administration and runs the risk of watering down the population, but otherwise, it would seem like a potential solve.

Personally, I think population can be managed by being aggressive in pushing out non-English speakers. Even if there wasn't a lag issue, having a sizable chunk of the community not being able to communicate with you in group content is a major issue,
