I don't agree.
I know Nostalrius story. I understand, Nostalrius was NOT a beta server. We played there a lot, yeah, okay.
But Nostalrius failed and died. Done. It was over.
Nostalrius Begins opened afterwards, but it's an another story, with other goals. If Nostalrius Begins die and then the team open an other server way more successful years after (hard to picture but hey, it's just an example), then it will also be a completely different server and I will agree to level an other character.

Here is what I don't understand. If Nost 1.0 "died" due to low population... then what was done that suddenly enabled them to get 5-10k population on Nost 2.0 ? (And why didn't they just get that population on Nost 1.0?)

It took many months! They wanted to launch Nos2 only when enough people were interested (subscribed to newsletter / liked the fb) and when their re-scripting was okay-ish and before Kronos. Great communication efforts were done, and at some point Nos started to get a lot of attention from 4chan, twitch, etc.

Nos1 was french-only for several years. And there is a bigger, crappy, french server. So most new players would try both and stay on the most populated one, population attracts population. Now it's happening between Nos2 and Kronos. There was an attempt to make Nos1 international but it didn't last long enough, and probably could not work when 95% of the player base is from 1 country and keep speaking their native language anyway (+ some retards trolling)... We did have foreign newcomers, but they would quickly leave, except for like 1 dude (Hi Rv!).

Nein. Beta is beta. You presume to make that understanding joining a beta server to beta test, that your beta character is only that, a beta, and not going to translate to the real server.

Such is the beta. Whether it lasts weeks, months, or years.

Conditionally I Agree.

The conditions would be:

#1: No gear from instances that hasn't yet been farmed for 1 month is restored. (So, 1 month after Nefarian is killed, I'd be fine with BWL gear.)

#2: No Thunderfuries/Bindings, no Sulfuras/Eyes. The reason being that farming MC for the many, many months that is often needed, especially for the bindings, just hasn't been possible here and it would just give those players too big an advantage.
