[Serious Discussion] Create Asian PvP server

Exactly, Moz. Speaking at least serviceable English should be a requirement here, and these guys don't. A new server with a forced move for the Chinese is perfect. At the rate we're going, I'm getting pretty scared of resource prices (Chinese mafias, anyone?) server stability (last time I checked, the devs said this server could handle 10k at once, and we've already broken 11.5k on the PVP server alone), and leveling alts. I tried playing an alt the other week in Desolace and quit after a couple hours because the place was overrun with Chinese.

I think we should designate Niko to interview all players to assess their English-speaking skills. If Niko determines that it is poor, the player should be banned.

I really think that there are only two significant problems with the increase of non-english speaking players.

1) The server is once again pushed beyond its limits. And its no secret where most of the influx comes from.

2) People not speaking the same language is a big issue with random matchmaking. It's decidedly unfun to have teammates you cannot communicate with.

In all other areas I really don't think it is a big deal. But these aren't small issues.

A chinese server should work. The chinese players would likely want to play on a stable server where they can communicate in BGs too. Sure many of the goldsellers/accountsellers would stay but they would be easier to detect and there is no convenient way to keep them out even if they tried since they will just connect via VPNs. Thus I don't think that any reasonable solution exists for these issues other than better early detection methods.

If by some impressive effort the devs could increase server capacity to handle the new numbers and could split BG groups into english/chineese teams I'd be absolutely fine with that too. Given that they also up their game on accountsharing in PvP, something I'm fairly sure they are already working on.

Instead of country code banning, make max latency to server 500ms before autokick for high latency.

Make a "High Latency PvP server" if you still want chinese players on your servers, that you can copy your character over to.

We aren't asking for a country code ban (that's racist). There's a big difference between forced transferring the country code to a different server so they can play exclusively with non-English speakers and just banning them.

You do know that there will be nothing drawing the players to the "Non-English servers" right as the price for gold will always be 10 times higher on Nostalrius PvP? Over half of them play to farm IRL money.

Forced transfers. Part of what needs to be done in order to make this effective is transfer all Chinese to the new server and then implement region locks. Non-Chinese will be unable to see the Chinese server, and vice versa. Think of how StarCraft 2 used to work. If you bought a Korean copy of the game (you needed a valid KR ID for this), then you'd play on the KR server and be locked to the region. Same went for Europe and NA.
