Most players don't visit these message boards. So many people have no clue a test for the new server is happening this Sunday. I think you should have an announcement in-game periodically to let people know of the new upcoming realm.

If they really wanted a pve server, they would've come to the forums to make their request, or googled for PvE servers. In that case, they're well aware of what goes on from the boards.

Let that sink in just how minimal the interest is.

This is an excellent idea. It's likely that no more than 5% of the player base ever visits the forums. In any case, I plan to spam the message while logged in in general just so people know about it up until Sunday. (Alliance side). If some others do that on Horde side, we can get a fair and unbiased view of the interest from the current player base - regardless of whether there is a server announcement or not.

I think you are grossly overestimating the effort and intelligence of the player base here.

A lot of people never visit the forums, or only visit once in a while, that goes for both PvE and PvP players.

I am sure the interest for a PvE server is there, as we can see by previous activity on this forum.

However, I do think that a lot of players who don't visit the forums too often will be made aware of the event happening on Sunday by word of mouth.

in the PvE-players interest, it would be nice and handy if they would be informed about the test so they can show their interest, as this is what the nos staff is interested in. interesting.

I support this only because the search function on the forums is currently crap and you can't search for "PvE" or "server." New users and lurkers who never post won't find the PvE server announcement unless they explicitly click the Announcements forum and click Syrah's topic. Otherwise, searching the forum will turn up nothing.

I found the announcement buried for this Sunday's pve voting login test - and only after I heard about it in General chat. An announcement in game would help out tons.

I believe that the event should be broadcasted manually from Game Masters occasionally, but not automatically.
Having automatic broadcasts of all colors just doesn't feel like something you would get from official servers.

Also, maybe there could just be a mention of it in the realm's message of the day.

I think you should definitely broadcast tomorrow including how many hours till the server gets started up.

Many ppl don't look into the forum at all (just count the trolls in this thread alone and guess why), and since there are many players not living in the server time-zone, having a much clearer announcement would help a lot.
