[Suggestion] Perma-ban sanction to be turned to 90 days ban

Yeah. I just believe permaban is often to "mean". I don't know but that's just my opinion.

People can get to do wrong things, but eh. Deleting their character and progress cause of that is sometimes too much.

Or at least easily accept permaban appeals after at least 45 days have passed.

That's all, what do you think?

It's not an IP ban. They can just make new accounts.
Honestly it's refreshing to see a team be so hard on cheaters.

I think was another suggestion to improve the visibility of warnings, that may be the best approach.

I think your sanctions should reset after 1 year(besides permanbans of course)
For example if your account is on warning level 2 or whatever it goes back down to 0 at the start of new year.
Time and space, it's a crossroad through a gate, where do you go?

We need the permanent ban, for the psychological deterrence alone. If players know that say, the worse punishment they can get is a ninety day suspension, more of them will be open to experimenting with different cheat tools, and exploits. No, we need the threat of a permanent ban, look at how many players are willing to cheat now, even with it. I can't imagine not having it.

Though, I do agree with what zzxx is saying. It would be nice if warnings and mild sanctions would reset after say, a year of good behavior.

It's real easy. If you don't break the rules, you wont have to worry about it. Even with regards to warnings.

play as it's meant to be played, or you won't play at all.

That's all I gotta say...

This is just another private server with 12 year old power admins that need to show the playerbase how stronk they are. Permabans and Permawarns should not exist on a server where the admins respect their player but this is Nosbanrius so enjoy banappeals on an industrial level.
To quote the ToU: "Nostalrius Begins reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to increase a sanction, suspend or terminate your use of the service at any time, for any reason or for no reason, with or without prior notice to you."
Enjoy you arbitrary sanctions and feel free to cry harder.

Cheating should be permaban.

Getting some nodes due to a bug. Any case where it is the server's fault as well should not be permaban IMO, that's all. After all 90 days are a lot

You won't get permabanned for accidentally running accross a bug without knowing. You will get banned for repeatedly exploiting that bug. I don't see what's wrong with that policy.

Perhaps I have not been seeing the whole truth, but eh.

The thing is, people are people. They will get to do stupid things eventually, at least some of them.

Getting permabanned is basically getting all your characters deleted, which can really often be a bit harsher punishment than people deserve. I believe sanctions that can be serious should have a really huge time of being banned, rather basically deleting the characters. Let that be even up to half year, as long as its not gone for good.
