Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Please try to keep discussion on topic. The more players that express substantive opinions and suggestions the more likely it is that this issue will be addressed and fixed.

I want this to be a serious discussion about why the Asian players of this server need their own server and why it will benefit everyone currently playing on Nostalrius PvP.

This post will NOT be about racism or negative stereotypes toward Asian players on Nostalrius.

First off everyone needs to understand that Asian players on Nostalrius have done nothing wrong, they are simply playing on what is likely the best Vanilla server that has ever existed because they enjoy Vanilla WoW just like the rest of us.

Reasons why Asian players need their own server:

1. Nostalrius is an English based server with rules about posting on the forums, talking in world/trade chat in English.
2. Many of the Asian based players speak zero to little English.
3. Asian players have been forced to create their own "underworld" of chat channels to communicate with each other effectively. They can't communicate with 80% of the server while leveling, playing battlegrounds, forming dungeon groups, trading items, etc.
4. Asian players have now surpassed US based players in population.(https://www.reddit.com/r/NostalriusBegi ... ma/cy5rmwc)
5. Lag with EU, US, and Asian players all online at the same time has become unplayable. We can expect this number of players at all major launches of new raids and events, thus ruining the release experience of all involved. There are plenty of guilds that have scheduled raid times during peak hours who are forced to either not do their scheduled raid or struggle through lag until the end.
6. There are likely enough Asian players to support a server of similar size to the PvE server. (See #4)

The only other solution to this issue is having the Nostalrius Development team drastically increase the performance of the hardware powering Nostalrius PvP. We are all very aware of what the delay is like during peak hours and I'm sure the developers are as well. There is a chance that the team is already working on a solution to this but I feel that is appropriate to open an actual discussion among the players.

China must be stopped. They aren't supposed to be playing here, Nostalrius has stated on numerous occasions that the English language is to be the only official language for the server, yet the Chinese community is the complete opposite of that. They must be removed from the main PvP server, either to a separate PvP server as OP suggests (that means mandatory transfers) or banned entirely.

I support this suggestion. There is an insurmountable language barrier between the English and Chinese speaking communities. Both communities would benefit from separate dedicated regional / language-specific servers.

I agree. Create a server with the same progression as this one, then move them all onto it.

I'll donate to Nostalrius immediately to see this happen. A decent chunk of money, if I have to. The Chinese are making this server terrible. They have to go.

What makes you think they will move to a new server? Anyway, even if the normal chinese players transfer out, the actual problem - the botters and farmers using Nost to make money irl - will not, because gold and accounts will always be worth more, and much more in demand, on a non-chinese server, obviously.

Don't get me wrong, the server needs its population cut in half to become playable. Opening a china-only server will not accomplish that, and will turn out to be a colossal fiasco. The answer is to open another pvp server altogether with parallel progression, introduce free migration from pvp1->pvp2 and temporarily lock new account creation for pvp1.

As for the language issue - someone suggested restricting the chinese client. That would not be a bad idea. It would force these players to gain some rudimentary knowledge of English and make it possible to actually communicate with them.

Part of the solution needs to be a forced move.
