PVE Aggro and Item Drops and Blah Blah

Hello,

Isn't it in Vanilla WoW that who ever last hit an NPC or boss, they would technically get all the loot and to prevent that in more recent updates, they made it to where the first person that hits the NPC gets it. Which is it like on Nostalrius?

Not saying I want to go around stealing people's loot, but it was fun for things like in dungeons and raids when tanks could aggro back and force and blah blah etc. lol.

The first person that tags ("hits") a mob is the one who get to loot it.
That is what is currently in effect.

Yeah, I got on and tried it out. I hate that so much to be honest. Today I was trying to level a Warlock (Lvl 5, 4 at the time) and I was doing the Sarkoth quest and a level 20 sat there and did nothing but kill it for about 30 minutes. 4 other guys and I all had to group up and finally killed him after a long time. I know that even if it was with the last hit thing he would've just one shot it anyways, but still. That makes it somewhat easier to level and finish quests and its more fun when doing raids and dungeons. Idk, maybe thats just me though.
