Seriously, how is this so fucking hard for you space cadets to understand?

Well, if you have 'gamer' in your name, you're probably a twitch streamer so you're collecting money off of a free server.

So... fuck you.

I would pay a sub in a heartbeat if it meant we had a functional server.

Quit complaining about people complaining about server downtime ffs

They're doing the best they can as players. They need some way to vent their frustration. It's not like you're paying them not to complain, so you can't really say anything.

Talryx wrote:My only complaint is why isn't there a post saying what's going on like maybe "hey the server is down we need to do some database maintenance" or "we are investigating the cause of the recent lag and need to apply some theoretical fixes" or even "sorry george was drunk and accidentally hit "restart and install updates on the server, it'll be back up in 2 hrs" etc...

Really the only issue is lack of communication.

There's a post up now: https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=15903

Does anyone, by chance, know what the current time is (server time)?

Not a twitch streamer but I'll consider it.

Your neighbor gets the paper delivered, and lets you have it after he has read it. You don't pay anything for it.

One day he gives you a paper that he has cut out an article from the paper that featured his daughter, an olympic ice skater. You rage at the neighbor and complain because he 'promised' a quality of service when he offered his paper to you.

Usually he finishes his paper before going to work, and drops it by at 7am, so you can read it in the morning.

Sadly your neighbor discovers he has contracted a social disease and is off work for a few days. He doesn't bring 'your' paper to your house by 8am. You're irate. You leave messages on his phone demanding 'your' paper. He doesn't respond to these in a timely fashion, so you throw rocks at his windows, and call his place of business and trash talk about him to his boss.

In the end you think about actually going out and buying one, but don't because you lack the wherewithal to.

A Gentle Reminder (As I invite the basement trolls)

by brewneski » Wed Jul 08, 2015 8:20 pm

It is a game.

There are kind folks who are giving their time, their talents, and their livelihood to provide happiness to strangers. Yes many of you are wasting your precious real world time to earn mounts and get to level 60 in a pretend world and command a power that youll never have in real life. to find control over something that this world in its oligarchical capitalistic contstruct doesn't afford us in the masses. I think we all get that however we vote, whatever side of the pond we are on. We all love the game, we all have memorized the way to WC, we all know the path in deadmines to get to the instance. Its fun, its great and yet its somewhat sad when we might forget some of the more important things in life day to day when caught off guard and asked the color of someones eyes or their favorite song.

So give these people a break, they are working on this to make you happy and bring you joy.

Give them a break and be patient. Perhaps go spend some time with people you care about for an hour and pick up the phone and call someone.

Now - for the flamers, troll me. Because you have nothing better to do. Its ok, its your catharsis. Cheers.
