Guys, I'm concerned about my WoW rep and don't want to just hand a troll victory over to this rogue. What can I do to ensure he understands that it was a counter troll and at the same time salvage my reputation as a cool wow guy? I'm thinking I should just edit out my original post and lay low until this all blows over.

They were on occasion, but I personally dont think that should be illegal so I would never report. I came from a game called Darkfall that makes WoW griefing looks like childs play.

Sapping doesn't place you in combat, and they can vanish after they kill a player thus preventing guards from killing them..

All you had to do was switch to Berserker then hit Berserker Rage. You're then immune to Sap. You'd think a raid gear equipped Warrior would know this. I also have to say that "counter trolling" is one of the most illogical concepts I've ever heard. That's like saying you're going to outretard a retard, as if it were some kind of accomplishment.
