I can´t judge any before launch, but comments in ˝symmetrical˝ thread on Kronos seem to be much less tolerant towards Nostalrius (that includes some devs and moderators) than vice versa , and in general if forums were good indicator of community, I´d pick Nostalrius without blinking an eye. Of course, I can be wrong on that. Also, Nostalrius is ATM more open for us to personally test it.

On the other side, Kronos is much more visible everywhere (I hope this will change as we get closer to Nos launch) and it could easily start with bigger/much bigger population, especially if it launches first. If their scripts and level of polish are anywhere close to what they are saying, it should be very good.

People have discussed this before. It will indeed be biased depending on the forum you ask in, as people on a forum have already made their choice, lol.

Both are looking to be good servers, although Nostalrius will be more authentic to retail than Kronos. Kronos is planning to do a few things that Nostalrius followers don't want or aren't happy about, where as Nostalrius plans to be as authentic to retail as possible. Nostalrius is also located in West Europe(France), which makes it more ideal for those of us in United States. Kronos however does have an already established following, as it's part of the TwinStar project that has 3 other already active realms. They will have no issue having a decent population the day they open, even if they do so after Nostalrius. Nostalrius however doesn't have as big a following and will have to fight harder for growth.

Get Kripp to get interested in Nostalrius and I think everything will be peachy, haha. Or maybe not.
He was talking about vanilla servers a few months back in one of his videos if I recall. Maybe that was on his stream...

Can you elaborate? I've seen mention of this a few times but I'm not sure what they're in reference to.

Kronos has multiple not vanilla blizz-like features such as:

What experience rates will be offered on Kronos?
The Experience rate will be x1 , with an option to turn off experience gain altogether for low-level PvP alts.

What about features such as free skills up to a certain level or reduced respec costs?
As we are going with x1 leveling rates there will also be no free skills offered. Respec costs will be reduced to a maximum of 10 Gold, to enable players a more flexible play-style and encourage a high level of participation in PvP.

Dungeons available at launch
All (Including Dire Maul).

If you want more info, go dig it up yourself :)

Taken from their timeline and FAQ.

Hope this helped. If you prefer retail as it was, pick Nostalrius, and if you prefer tweaks to make it more easymode and break the economy, that were never in retail / got implemented 2 expansions later, pick Kronos.
No member ever downed a raid boss, by dying for his guild. He killed the raid boss, by DPS'ing it down to zero.

Ehh...that dungeons thing puts me off tbh.

The great thing about Nostalrius (and what I thought was Kronos) was it was going to be progressive from day1. I played vanilla, a lot, but I was carried through MC and BWL. I wasn't level 60 until AQ happened. I had all that stuff like DM and ZG opened to me to hurdle me much further than I really should have been.

Thanks for digging up that info!

WoW and this Server has a wrong timeline too.
Patch 1.5 first time warsong and av released but here you have both warsong and arathi (why not av thought it works make no sense)
Really you cry about a dungeon that came 1.3 cause dm have imba items? You know there is a other Problem that is named 1.10 item changes example look scholo gear! If you want really hard blizzlike then you should want a 1.0-1.1 timeline that means no bgs, no maraudon/dire maul. Ah and not to forget no DR on abilities like frostshock or sap hf with that.

The only differnt is 10 Gold respect cost not more and lol if you cry about 0 exp option than you have really rl problems.

Kronos is progressive...

The only difference between nostalrius is that kronos sees no point in delaying dire maul release.

Onyxia’s Lair Available at launch
Molten Core Available at launch
Blackwing Lair Release shortly after Ragnaros’ demise
Zul’Gurub Release shortly after Blackwing Lair
Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj + Temple of Ahn’Qiraj Release after completion of War Effort and Scepter of the Shifting Sands chain
Naxxramas Release at some point after C’thun’s demise

Even though I agree that DM shouldn't be released at launch, honestly, having Dire Maul at release doesn't really matter that much. MC is easy enough as it is already being in patch 1.12.1 (updated talents, items, etc.) plus the raid is pretty easy to begin with, so it's not that big of a deal.

Though apparently a lot of people over at the Kronos' forum really don't like it either, they even made a thread to change it, so that might get changed.

All of the other "unblizzlike changes" I really like actually, reducing the respec limit cost to 10 gold is wonderful for PvP and I don't think it's going to affect the economy at all because when it's 50 gold almost nobody respecs, 10 gold is going to make players respec a lot more often so the gold sink is probably going to be the same

Nostalrius will be a *real* progressive content release.
What does it mean ?
Raids will not be available at launch, but you will also have pre-nerf items, loots, quests ...
This makes a huge difference: on Kronos MC will be cleared by 20ppl one week after the release. On Nostalrius, there will be much more challenge (like there was on retail back then), and I doubt that raids will be cleared that easily.

Nostalrius will also provide pre-nerf Alterac. This is the genuine Alterac that provides real challenge, not the one that is finished after 20 minutes on all other private servers.

And finally, after visiting both forums, I find Nostalrius staff more efficient that Kronos one. In 2 months, there was 3 testing sessions on Nostalrius, new videos, tons of bugs fixed etc ... On the same time, on Kronos, we had :
- a release date not repected
- 3 news "nothing happens here but you should not worry" ("The Final Touches", "No Cause for Concern", "Last Week's Team Meeting")
This is why I went to Nostalrius.
