Of course it applies to items. I'd just much rather see items being gimped than entire classes close to useless for 2 years. The time difference between the revamps on the classes in vanilla was huge. While the gear updates all came in big chunks of patches where everyone got viable upgrades. It wasn't selected upgrades for 1 class only at a time. No - Everyone got updated gear. Everyone got better options. Everyone received indirect buffs.

That wasn't the case with the class and talent revamps. They were few and far between. Some being 1+ year between one another.
If you guys truly want everything in the game to be in the pre-nerf / pre-buff and pre-bugfix and glitch fix state. Then there would be a lot more crazy shit on our hands than class and talent revamps. As huge as those alone are for the entire balance of the gameplay.

But if that's truly what people want, then.. we're in for one crazy fucking ride. And I'd definitely reroll my class, haha.

Because I don't think the majority would enjoy that. That's why I said what I said.

It would be pretty fucking funny though, if all those things were to happen. No DR alone would be a lot of "fun" - eh? :P

There's nothing to debate about 900g mount cost. There's a reason for why money dumps exist in MMOs. You should know this... I'm not saying you can't have your own opinions such as "oh, mounts are too expensive, I'd rather have them as 300g" - or something like that - But there's an obvious reason for why it costs that much in the first place.

Its not at all about creating a blizzlike server.. however its creating a server that has a balanced environment which allows the community to thrive under certain criteria. Once a certain thing is broken to the degree, where it not only hurt the players without the given thing, but also starts to corrupt the general mood and attitude towards whatever the given thing affects, it's obviously not the correct thing to implementate.. This naturally goes both ways, it leaves a relative part which allows discussions such as this to arise..

good, then i dont want to have old items on launch because they are less fun
i want buffed r10 items right from the start because the old r10 items are shit and unusable as pre-raid items
i want AV right from the start because waiting for the strong epic items and korrak quest rewards is no fun
not to mention majority of caster items being useless before the patch

this can go on forever like this, and once again, my opinion is, either do EVERYTHING like it was pre patched or leave it be and set it to 1.12 right from release
it just seems odd to me that people want to play classic server, but only like the very last little bit of it when it was "fixed"

"oh yeah classic was awesome! i would love to play a classic server! ...but scratch like 90% of it from release up to 1.10 because it was all shit and no fun"

Changes to talent trees requires changes to the server AND game client. I am almost certain this will not happen.

Well I've already said all there is to say on the topic, Gabgab. There's no point for me discussing it any further.
I get that you just want everything 1.0 or everything 1.12.1 - I just don't agree myself that the game HAS to be like that.
Just because everything isn't blizzlike, doesn't make it worse trying to make it more blizzlike in some areas rather than none at all.

Changing the gear values while keeping the talents the same is easily the best solution.

Look it's literally not possible to get back to the old way talents worked, abilities functioned, and how classes worked in general. BUT

It is possible to datamine the archives for gear changes to give us a closer Blizzlike experience than ever before.

Most importantly though: if this server has as good as scripting as everyone has been saying it has and what I've seen the first few months of the server's many years in existence will be a small time period where the people completing the content will always remember and most significantly will come as close as anything you have ever seen before to a Blizzard Server Re-launching.
