I read about this. Not much you can do to avoid this kind of thing other than to create server backups of account data and pick better people to trust. Other servers also see new players when one goes down or has a mess like this, but I doubt we will. Molten only ran Wotlk and newer. I doubt its players will downgrade all the way to Classic. The internet is not exactly hurting for more Wotlk servers, I should add.

in regards to this, i hope nostalrius will take a different raod regarding database security.
there is a difference between programmers / compilers and coders or whatever and secuirty sepcialists / system managers.

I don`t have any sorry regarding Molten!
2 weeks ago i was testing a new vanilla server with over 100 pop. , 1 x blizz, when a gnome lvl 1 Moltenwow started advertising his server. Was talking very dirty, spamming with reasons to play molten, using hacks and bitching people. The guy done all his job till was banned because was reported live on mirc. Wasnt first time when i saw these type of advertising regarding Molten. I tried Molten and don`t see any reason to play on that server. I am pretty sure Molten team tried to shut down other wow servers to get more population and get monopol like Feenix.

Yep molten are all about the money and not about the quality. Thats why you can donate for legendaries and full arena gear.
I bet the whole "molten was taken down" is just a excuse for some people to run off with the tens of thousands of dollars they made with donations.
Just like they did on Rebirth.
