He is intentionally scamming.

He's running a scam.

He should be punished, for the, you know, scamming.

Scam - verb - gerund or present participle: scamming

see also : swindle.
"a guy that scams the elderly out of their savings"
Synonyms: swindle, cheat, deceive, trick, dupe, hoodwink, double-cross, gull;
Informal: rip off, con, fleece, shaft, hose, sting, bilk, diddle, rook, gyp, finagle, bamboozle, flimflam, put one over on, pull a fast one on, sucker, stiff, shake down, hornswoggle

"he was trying to scam residents with phony insurance policies"

Scamming is bad...punish him.

good thing its not up to you

It actually makes sense...
Devs have enough to do already and we as a close community should be able to deal with stuff like that... just cod the exact same letter back

If your argument is that the Dev's and GM's (I have no idea what else they are 'doing' that they cannot address this...literally their job) are too busy creating a "perfect" server that they should allow the community to become completely toxic and unchecked, then Nostalrius will die in time and there will be nothing to dev for.

Community is like a chair leg. You need all 4 legs, but if one is so short and over looked, the whole chair topples.

In business we call them "Pillars". You do not ignore customer service and retain long term growth unless you have other market forces like oligopolies, monopolies, etc. These ideas are social in nature, ie they apply almost everywhere humans are present in a client/clientel relationship.

Ok i get your point. To bad those devs have a chair with 6200 very edgy legs without any profit for their time invested.
Again this is a private server
and again this issue can be resolved by community.
I to have been a victim of this in my 10 years of wow
exactly 1 time...
Have faith man:-)

What are the <GM>'s purpose? What is it that you think is 'missing' from being able to address this? You realize that not everyone at Nostalrius is DevOps, right?

I feel like blatantly allowing what is going on, in several areas of the community, is going to be bad for the long term. You guy's who think the 'word' will spread is just you saying 'it won't catch me so I don't care.'.

Try and think big picture, long term, and what this means to the person doing the scam. You're empowering and encouraging bad behavior on top of creating an environment for it to thrive in. You just gave anyone who wanted to run this scam carte blanche to run it as much and as often as they want, without fear of reprimand.

That is bad, bad, bad. It makes no sense why you, as part of this comnmunity, would be ok with this behavior and then go on to justify the inaction on it.

i dont think this "scam" is substantively different from me sending you a message and asking you to send me 15 gold.

you have a dialogue box you have to accept to send the money. he's no taking your money. you have to consent to it.

how much goddamn hand-holding do you need?

How much hand holding do I need?

I guess whatever amount of hand holding that actually dealing with SCAMMERS entails. That much hand holding, please.

Hey man, if you can't follow the quote /quote syntax and delete the 4th quotation, don't use quote.

Your arguments have zero merit as well.
