I'm sure many of us can tank under the worst circumstances, but tanking is hardly enjoyable when your grouped with a bunch of people that can't follow instructions and have the shiit retail mentality of rushing through the instances.

If you want tanks to actually WANT to tank for you, then learn to play your fking class. Otherwise, you'll be sol while leveling and even more sol when your trying to farm your pre-raid gear.

Question. Do you try and help the people who are trying to "learn to play their class"?

I do try to help people out. I'm very polite about it and never have any kind of attitude with them. But it's pointless because most people don't care anyways. Sure, I could go ahead and kick people from the group, by I'm not an asshole and would rather see the dungeon through no matter what.

I'm just venting o these forums, rather than taking out my frustration on the people I group with.

Comes down to a few things
1. Don't want to deal with the common PUG that may or may not speak English. If they speak English it makes your life much easier, if they don't then you are pretty much at the mercy of knowing their language, not everyone speaks more than one language.

2. Don't want to deal with inexperienced players. Take for example a "tribute run" a couple days ago, I joined a pug for it, we get to Dire Maul North, all 5 of us there, and suddenly there are materials missing to complete a tribute run.

3. PUG has a problem with you rolling on X item.

4. PUG ate too many paint chips as a child and decides to pull for you when you didn't ask for it.

5. PUG is not following you and wants to go his/her/its own way, and not the path you are taking.

etc

In essence, PUG players are fucking retarded 99% of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I know some of you are looking at your guilds and saying "But Krah, I have retards in my guild that compete for champion paint chip eater."; There is a huge difference that makes your guildmate 10x better than any pug, voice comms.

Ahh .. so this is why Blizzard came out with dual specs for BC. Warriors were pretty much forced to tank like in EQ, and I get both perspectives. I mained a Warrior my entire career and I was constantly rotating between all three specs. Prot for raids and some donjons, Arms for PvP, and Fury was my favourite spec and the one I would use as my main spec from the release of dual specs up until I quit in Cata. I was fortunate enough that I was in a guild in Vanilla that was totally cool with letting me raid as Fury when we had the tank spots properly filled and would always offer to pay my respec cost if I had to spec Prot.

If you are a warrior, then realize you are tanks first and DPS second. You EARN the right to play as DPS. Why? Because this is Vanilla, and warriors are the only people who can tank, aside from the exceptionally rare Feral druid.

If you are a warrior and do not understand this, then delete your character and reroll a rogue.

Fuck.

Im arms spec, yet I tank in instances. I just dont tank to pugs because of the retarded shithead attitude 50% of dps have on this server. Rogues/hunters ninjapulling everything thinking they are the shit and then wiping the group and blaming it on everyone else. Yeah no thanks

You can tank most stuff just fine as Arms/Fury if you're geared appropriately and know how to play your class. As long as a tank can hold reasonable threat and not go splat too easily, then the tank is fine, whatever the spec.

And I hate retard DPS just as much as you. I have a 47 warrior alt. The good thing is, you can easily boot rogues/hunters like that at 60. They're clamouring to get into 5 mans (I know I was), so you'd think they'd actually try to be good at the game.

Because of the tank shortage (this was in March/April for me), I had to aggressively add every single tank and healer who didn't suck that I pugged with, then cold call my friends list when trying to get a group together. I was able to keep that going because they knew I did 35-40% of the DPS in most 5 man groups and didn't do stupid shit like you mentioned.

Dual spec made sense in Wrath when they rebalanced (ruined) the classes and roles. The way you describe your Vanilla experience is how warriors should (and were intended to) be played.

That's cool. I ask only because there are way too many age 20 something "elitist" who think they're super cool coming back to a dead game they probably sucked at 10 years ago as early teens. Some of the behavior I've seen in instances is unfortunate, but i've also been in pugs where the people actually wanted to learn which is super awesome.

I've been in groups where classes were still trying to learn and they got slammed for it. I believe the term is "get gud" which is incredibly juvenile.

no the real truth of it is "MUH DPS" when you could easily play rogue if you wanted a pure DPS class

DPS warriors are lazy shits who either think tanking is "too hard" or they're so shit at it they had to respec because they're utterly useless and for some unfathomable reason unable to spam sunder armor and shouts to keep aggro.

if shits want to PvP as a pure DMG class go rogue and spec subtlety, because DPS warriors are just a waste of space
