I don't see why people would whine as much about their items being bad, when everyone experiences it, and if I ever saw a non-hybrid complainin' - I'd just laugh at them. Like seriously, how can you complain then.

I truly believe this will improve the early months though, especially. It's much more balanced and fair than talent & class revamps favouritism, and all the broken game mechanics of old WoW where DR didn't exist and a ton of abilities flat out didn't work, simply broken mechanics, and tons of lag. None of those things would be fun for people, or in the least; improve the experience in any way.


I know, Hatson. I'm not worried about my personal char being bad, anyway I plan to play one of the few class that can actually kill people without the need of any gear, with the right spec. :lol:
The thing is that gear have different effects on the different classes, and this does change the balance between them. It's not a flat 15% damage decrease for everyone. It's not even. Maybe it's not too bad, but I think we need to see all or most of the items and their previous stats, hence the request in the announcement post...

It does take testing and time to find the right balance, and I'm a bit scared to see hundreds of items affected at once without testing it. It will change every single PVE and PVP fights a little, it's a big change imho.

I'm not too excited about having to spend more time in MC either way, as I was already sick of it almost 10 years ago. I'm not sure if "featuring old shitty items!" is a good selling point for the server too. I guess harder progression is wanted by a lot, but people come and play for different reasons... Personally I'm more interested in the late game content so if it takes an extra year to reach it, that will just be pain in the butt, to me. :D

It might not be a selling point, but I think a lot of people want it, or at least interested in playing with the item progression. This is the first time it will ever be done since 2004-2006... Even if I didn't like the idea, I'd still welcome it just for curiosity.

And yes, it's a major change in gameplay, pace, and somewhat increase in difficulty for everyone.
And of course everyone would like to see the items affected, their pre-buff and post-buff stats and when they will get buffed. Hence:

Or something along those lines - for each item affected by this.
I don't know if would be too much work, but I'm sure the community could help a lot with that if needed.


As for the race for endgame.. I understand completely the appeal of it, after all I am a raider myself. But I also enjoy the progression and race towards that myself. But that's all personal preferences right there. There's definitely some people that don't care for the item progression changes, or any content progression for that matter. Some people just want Naxx asap.

I'm pretty sure most of the community though wants this sort of progression.

If people only wanted to try naxx for the sake of raiding it, they're probably looking at the wrong server.

I however fancy your idea about listing both items on their database, regardless of the amount of work it requires, it will simplify it for everyone.. Saying that its blizzlike because people dont know the items is just... delusional, its only a matter of time before someone from the community posts a thread with the full list of changes.

I would love this actually, never got to play most classes with the old shit talents.
Just have it like this until molten core is cleared or something.

Definately, but information will be available for all at a certain point, you might aswell have the staff release it properly ;) It will be simplified regardless, might aswell have the server adapt to that.

5 points to improve stealth, 5 to stealth faster and 5 to lower stealth cooldown.

@moxey Improved sap is my favorite. But being early vanilla Druid, Paladin or Shaman (first things that came to my mind) would really make you cry, just check their early ultimate talents. Things such as Hurricane, Blessing of Kings or a mere totem.

Quick question: New to the server, but when you mean they are reverting back the gear until the actual release of said patch (1.10 gear revamp) does this mean that they have datamined most of the gear from pre buff state?

I remember Scholomance, before the AQ patch and 1.10 having really awful green gear and some decent blues.
