It's truly not incredibly difficult but I don't think that pugs will have the gear available to clear it. Guilds that try at all can clear it sure, I just don't believe pugs will for some time.

I would say post nerf its easy but pre 1.4 its pretty rough.

They were first, congrats and all that but implying that MC in any shape or form is, or ever was especially hard is somewhat amusing.

Even on retail, when the game was in its infancy it took under 2 months after launch before bosses starting to fall, and with the exception of Ragnaros, the whole instance was cleared in 22 days. Even Onyxia died extremely fast by early vanilla standards (a little over 2 months after launch). This was a period when the average grind to 60 could easily take a month or more, with no quest helper or databases to speed up the progress, so the amount of level 60 players here is much higher, way way faster than it ever was on retail.

10 years later there are no undiscovered mysteries. Detailed guides and tactics excist for pretty much any aspect of the game. This means to clear the entry level raid that MC is, all you really need is enough people.
