If a guild is so shit with loot distribution via loot council, the guild will die pretty fast.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH MY SIDES

The fact that Robotard is the top dps in ANY guild is a clear sign that guild is a dying one.

His point still stands though, loot council is the superior choice, granted it isn't complete retards running it

Loot Council best for assuring strong, progressing raiders for current and future tiers.

Making these kind of threads without having any real insight as to what is going on in a guild, is pretty retarded.

Superior in what sense?

For speed-running tryhards?

This is 10 year old content. You could have your main tanks in rags and still speed run everything up to AQ. Hell, even Naxx isn't going to be as hard as it was 10 years ago.

Loot Council is a nice excuse for Officers and Leaders of guilds to gear themselves without having to answer to the rest of the guild. DKP is the only FAIR choice and anything you say to rebuttal this would just be considered retarded. This is fact. Loot Council exists to gear specific members and roles in a guild, which is fine, for bleeding edge content.

This is a fucking Vanilla private server.

DKP is a good option when you want to reward people for attend raids, sure.
Maybe you have bad experience with LC, its fine but remember yourself to not put everthing in the same pot.
Do not generalize everything, take the time to do investigations and after that and only then you may can judge.

DKP / LC both systems are bad. For us LC is at least worst one. Thats why we are using it.

So because it's vanilla we are supposed to play in an inefficient manner, is that the point you're trying to make? When I say superior I'm talking about how much it benefits the guild in raids, which is the only use for gear in my opinion. If you want to "look cool" on the roof in orgrimmar you're right, then loot council probably isn't the right choice.
Btw when I said "granted it isn't complete retards running it" I was kinda talking about the first example you gave, any system can suck if you put a retard with a selfish agenda in charge.

DKP vs LC - Billy Scenario

DKP:
1. Billy has no life. Billy attends every single raid since the guild is formed.
2. Billy will always have more DKP than anyone who joined the guild after him.
3. Billy outbids everyone on items that are barely an upgrade, or he wants them for the looks
4. Billy is the only one who gets gear just because he joined the guild earlier than other members.
5. A guild will have an amount between 4 and 20 Billies
6. The remaining raiders will have to save up for weeks until they can outbid all of the Billies in their guild to receive even one item.
7. The only thing holding people back from leaving the guild would be internet points (DKP) that they have, yet are unable to use sufficiently due to the amount of Billies in the guild.

LC Scenario:
1. 4-10 Billies are members of loot council
2. All Billies are of a different class and want different loot.
3. If Billies continue to take the loot from everyone else, the guild will break apart and there is a constant fear that wrongful item distribution can cause the guild to Shatter.
4. Billies are aware of this and distribute loot as evenly as possible, gearing up the most important raiders first (Tanks) and making sure everyone is happy with the decisions made, otherwise the guild breaks apart.
5. If the Billies are idiots, the guild disbands within a month or two. If they are somewhat competent, the guild successfully progresses and everyone is happy about the loot.

Now which Billy do you want to be?

P.S. Next time, keep threads like these inside your guild forums where they belong.

Like it was foretold, the thread turned into (yet another) (C)LC/DKP debate.

In the red corner, meet and cheer for Druzzil, aka the angry bird nerd, representing the Salty DKP Crusade !

No, certainly not. My point is that the need to gear tanks first isn't there. Unless of course, like I said, your guild is try-harding for server firsts on a Vanilla Emu.

If we were playing retail and having this conversation my answer would be different but seriously, this is Vanilla. And sure, retards could screw up DKP even, that isn't the point - the point is that Loot Council isn't necessary for the reasons your using: "Better for the guild". So again, in what sense? How is this superior? I just don't see it - unless of course this is being used for you and your five pals. Then I totally understand.
