Apparently when the server was still young, a husband and wife made a pair of gnome characters to level up together. They sat side by side, but also kept ventrilo open to chat with their guildies. The first time they went on the Tram they were level 6, and honestly just wanted a change of scenery. They arrived in Stormwind safe and sound and went on their merry way. It was not ominous for them at all because they weren't hearing it told in the past tense in this topic.
It was a few weeks later, when the husband had the idea of comparing prices on the herbs he had picked between auction houses that disaster struck. The wife noticed Nessie swimming for the first time, and targeted her to tell her husband what she was seeing, but Nessie glitched through the glass, over their heads and into the opposite wall as if she were swimming through normal water.
The lights in their room momentarily blacked out except for their monitors, and ventrilo announced the husband had been disconnected. The woman noticed she was no longer in a party, but there was no notification in her chat that she was kicked or her husband had logged off. His character had seemed to disappear into nothing, though the chat did not announce he had disconnected. She turned, and to her horror she saw she was actually staring at a wall in the studio apartment she lived in alone.
