Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Do wands properly work? I'm currently level 8 using a level 5 wand that is suppose to do 11-22 arcane damage per hit, but it only hits for 8-12 damage. It's as if its damage is nerfed by the mobs armor, despite it does spell damage. It is not resisting the damage.

Is this just for this [Lesser Magic Wand] or is it a known problem?

Clear your item cache. In earlier patches, Lesser Magic Wand was a white item with less damage. You have a white wand equipped but you're seeing a green tooltip. MANY items (including all PVP gear) have different stats than what you are probably seeing on your tooltips, until you clear the cache.

Clearing the Cache did not work.

I'm using a vanilla client from Feenix, perhaps it has the wrong patch integrated into it. I'll download the Nostalrius vanilla wow version and see if that fixes it.

Clear your WDB folder is what he meant, everything else he said is accurate, the wand is actually weaker than what you say. Don't bother wanding unless you are out of mana or want to get skill ups until you get the later game wands.

Afaik the wand should do more dmg than that, but I've found on some mobs it does a bit less for some reason (though they might have been 1 or 2 lvls higher than me).

Can't help you with the problem, but just ignore the guy who says not to use wands. Nothing's easier than lvling the first levels as a priest whilst using those wands enchanters make. And nothing's worse imo than to level a priest without using a wand.

Actually, don't ignore me. The enchanter wand is less dps than using abilities (unless you are oom obviously), I tested it. Around 12 or 13 you can get a wand that's actually worth using. Once the wand update is implemented that enchanter wand is god mode from 5 until you replace it.
