Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Every day i see raids and dungeons calling for tank, literally held for hours because they can't find
a warrior that wants to tank.. I was one of the dedicated tanks with 100+Defense long before i even
was attuned to MC.. i grinded the gear i needed to tank better, every time i could get with +def.

The truth to why there's so few dedicated tanks is that Warriors WANTS to do damage, there are a very few
amount of warrior-players who don't want to pvp, just pve and tank.. not even dps - just tank.

So take in consideration all those warriors who wants to pvp, to start with, if they wanted to tank good,
they would have to be protection spec. And everyone knows what happens in pvp and BG's with protection spec warriors...
They get shunned, cursed at, and abused in any shape or form. So it doens't take a genious to figure out
why warriors dont want to run prot-spec to tank , and then respec everytime they want to pvp or do damage.

Then we have the loot.. If you are prot-spec tank with full tankgear, and suddenly dps-gear drops,
EVERYONE will start bitching at you or question your Need-roll on the DPS-items that drops.
"You're a TANK you don't need Truestrike shoulders".. but what they don't care to think about is that maybe
the tank also wants to dps when he's NOT tanking..

Respeccing between tanking prot and pvp with Arms will quickly rise to 100g every time we're asked to
tank and then back to pvp... that's EACH DAY if you are constantly asked to tank, but also wants to pvp daily.

I used to be the MT of the guild, ever since Stockade Pauldrons dropped in my first BRD-run, but then i started
to pvp with prot-spec and let me tell you, there is NO dmg, nada, zero, silch, zipp .. and you got ONE CC on a 40 sec CD, not to mention that casters melt you just as fast anyway because prot-spec doens't help against casters.

So when i started to pvp at 60, i realized that after getting cursed at and specifically told to leave and make room
for useful people in the BGs, i said fuck tanking and went Arms... haven't specced prot since then.

So the only option for Warriors in pvp is dps. But you require us to tank with prot
- so please pay our respecs of 100+ gold each day ... didn't think so.

I'm little bit confused, why your wall of text covering only warriors? You know there is a druids and paladins, who can tank 5 mans. Even deep resto druid, with appropriate tanking gear, can tank 5 mans+UBRS (well at least i can in my 1/19/31 spec ). Holy paladins should be able to tank as well (i saw a working guide on ED).

Don't roll a prot warr if you want to pvp. Thought everyone knew that.

you can easily tank in arms spec, just put on tanking gear.

geared prot tanks can be fun flag carriers for WSG

I think the best tanks have alt characters that they can play on when they want to do PVP and other stuff, and they keep their tank character for tanking. Just my opinion based on observations from back in the day. Of course, we didn't have all these people wanting to roll DPS warrs back then as I recall...

Prot-tanks are the worst carriers. Easy to CC, melt fast by casters, got no speed or damage.

The number of Bear tanks I've come across on this server who can actually tank effectively+hold agro on multiple mobs, I could count on one hand. And Paladins are only for Alliance, so...

This is vanilla. Your stuck going one spec. Also, unless your guild is nice enough to accomodate you, if you're a shammy, pally, druid, priest and think you're going to be doing anything other than healing end game, you might want to re-roll.

Its not because of PvP, its because ppl like to dps more than tank. And for some reason ppl think tanking is difficult.
