I was reading the latest announcement: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20231

3.3 Cross-realm battlegrounds
We won't go much into detail here, but cross-realm battlegrounds are a very complicated topic.
The concept has been precised and specified before this summer by the Development Team with the following conclusion: it is a very difficult challenge to achieve and there is, for now, no guarantee that it will happen as it needs a lot of software development. The content release shift between the PvE & PvP realms gives us several months to prepare a final answer.

I am not exactly sure why the devs are even trying to do something like that. Compared to PvE realm players, the PvP server characters will have their raid T gears and other world drops (eg. dragons of nightmare loot etc.) roughly half year earlier; giving them huge advantage.

Further, the PvP server is probably going to be populated by the more pro-PvP players, if they are forced to face players from PvE realm, they will probably get even less challange than currently. There are allready complaints about balancing some of the battlegrounds eg.:

Crossrealm BGs would further deepen this issue.

Anyone has an idea why the devs are even trying to make this work??

This is Nostalrian for "might maybe happen in 2 years but probably not" so don't worry about it too much right now.

So killing people 40 levels below you makes you a good PVPer? you're also the type that stays at 1700 in arenas and blames his teammate and underachieves in any game, even though I personally didn't have many issues leveling up and managed to get through any area quite easily I still don't think calling people that want a PVE server weaker is ok when in fair combat (as in max level and similar gear) you'd probably get your ass kicked, what kind of fun is that when you login at 10AM and kill low levels until 10PM ?

I'm not the one being against a PVE server just for the sake of it, tell me where's the skill in killing people that are 20-40 levels below you ? as I said , I had no issues whatsoever during leveling because I knew what to avoid but that doesn't change the question, why would one waste so many hours each day to fight someone that poses no challenge?

So...you guys want the PvP Experience but not the PvP Server???

I'll join the PVE server mainly because of the fact that it starts from the very beginning and you know very well why people want the PVE server, it's because 60s farm 20-30s , 60v60 there shouldn't be any issue

TIL people think PVE'ers don't PVP, helping a friend hit High Warlord back in the day on a carebear server was just in my head.
