:D Heya guys, im taking a break from retail, probably two or three months into the break and i decided to try picking up private servers again, i was impressed with this community untill i asked someone if this was a EU or US Server, my heart broke when he told me whats what and that i saw my MS is sitting at 170-172, im incredibly impressed with the (troll/orc) Starter zone having so many new characters and im sad to see that i might not be able to play on this server because of the latency. I dont exactly see everyone stutter around, its not like they jump a huge amount of feet but they barely jump 2-4 steps ahead while i lurk at them walking around, he suggested that i give the server a try while im willing to do this, i imagine pvp will be unplayable but with this tiny amount of lag i believe i might be able to enjoy Raiding, just wondering what your guys thoughts are on this and how it would effect my game-play/Availability (as in since i live in america Washington state to be exact, will our times zones be drastic making me not available for raids ?). since the server is based in Germany, Do you guys use Vent or Teamspeak? i haven't seen an american server this populated, its a little embarrassing x.x and if anyone knows of one that would be awesome to direct me to it, Thanks for answering my questions! Game on!

This is an EU server, but a lot of us are from the US (including myself). There are EU raiding guilds, and US raiding guilds, with the only variance between the two being raid times (and for some, language). I live on the east coast and had no problem finding a good raiding guild. As for VOIP programs, it just depends on the guild. Barely anyone uses Ventrilo anymore; Mumble and TS3 are popular. I average 100-110 ms ping based on how many people are online, but the lag is pretty bearable from when I started. I don't know if I got used to it, but they've actually made significant improvements to the server since then. Also, you can try Leatrix's Latency Fix. Maybe it'll help, maybe it won't.

P.S. Server is based in France, not Germany ;)

I got 214ms from Thailand, its totally fine to play with, vanilla gameplay differs alot from Wod retail.

I'm on the east coast USA, and sit around 100ms. I barely notice it at all.

Only time it gets laggy is when there are 6k+ online, and it's serverside lag, so it lags for just about everyone.

They're called paragraphs.*

Don't be a grammar Nazi if you can't type correctly yourself.

hahah 170ms.. you privileged kids.

play on 250+ forever, no problems at all. The game is completely playable, maybe not PVP at a competitive level but raiding/dungeons and normal pvp is fine.

For legal reasons, you wont find a popular server hosted on US.
