Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Managed to get some friends to play on this server this Summer due to the overwhelming positive feedback. We are fans of the Burning Crusade which is what got us to invest time here. We are having a great time going through memory lane. However, am I playing on the right server?

"A new TBC server will be opened after some months by the community we depend on. This new realm will be completely independent from Nostalrius Begins, that will continue to be supported. Additionnaly, the Nostalrius players will have the possibility to copy any character to the Burning Crusade realm. Once again, Nostalrius Begins will always stay online, and will always have its own dedicated staff."

This was before the launch of the new PVE server. If there is (hopefully) still a plan for a Burning Crusade Server, will we be able to copy a level 60 character from either the PVE/PVP server or will two separate BC PVP/PVE servers be launched to make the copies easy to do?

Just want to know what server to invest time in for the future's sake. Cheers!

Nostalrius won't open a BC realm until months after Naxx has been cleared on the PvP realm. So you've got months if not a year or so of Vanilla before the even consider a BC realm.

I understand the wait. Our group is planning on end game PVP until the BC server. Our concern is if we are able to copy to the new realm from either the PVE or PVP server or just one. That way we can reroll asap if we joined the wrong one.

Yeah, I was concerned about this also, as most of my friends who have started playing on Nost love it and want to copy their char to the BC server when it comes out.

Personally, I don't mind taking a few days to level a new character, as you spend an asymptotic amount of time at level 70 anyway. However I understand most people don't enjoy leveling as I do and just want to have the same character copied to a realm where everyone else starts at 60.

Some clarification on this issue would be nice.

TBC won't happen for at least one or two years. Just go somewhere else.

They have said there will be a one-time character transfer from the Vanilla realm (PvP) to the BC realm. This was back before there was a PvE realm, though. I would assume they'll do the same for the PvE realm... but you know what happens when you assume.

Having a PvE realm doesn't mean they still won't do BC. The question is whether or not it'll get 2 realms like Classic did. I think that will depend on whether or not the Classic PvE gets big enough. They only released a Classic PvE after PvP was overloaded for months.
