PvE population effect

by AMBFCHD » Sat Nov 14, 2015 1:58 pm

Hello there! Want to give Nostralius a try, but been wondering about one thing... I always was more of a PvE orientated player so was thinking of joining that server and the question is - with its lower population (read it's about 2500?), does grouping with people for instances or raids work well or does it all feel "dead" with long waiting times? Many thanks for any response!

2500 was the normal population for a server back in vanilla. It may take you a few extra minutes to get a group together, especially if you are looking for a healer or tank. Ive always gotten a group together after 15 minutes except for one time when we just could not find a healer. This is exactly how I remember it 10 years ago as well. Im really enjoying it.

I played on realms with 400 ppl and managed to get groups for everything.

When I see people worried about grouping on realms with 2-3k ppl I always pinch myself to make sure I'm awake :)

I played on Emerald Dream when it had a lower cap than 2500, gearing toons for pre-BiS - it's possible but might take more persistence than you're used to, especially if you are used to retail WoW. 2500 isn't terrible but it's not for everybody.
