Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Is it possible to play vanilla wow on lets say a wrath of the lich king expansion client or even later to get better gfx ?

Nah.

Primal WoW is doing that.
Wrath client with only vanilla content available.

Smart thing if they did that, all pre 2.0 clients have tons of bugs and stutter like crazy, especially on new hardware. Hope Nostalrius will one day adopt this too, there is no reason to have 1.12.1 when you can have same thing on 2.x or 3.x

What if I told you the client can be edited ? It's a huge amount of work both clientside and serverside, but it is possible and there are many custom servers out there.

it'd require MPQ files to change spells and even map design (stormwind harbour etc.), eventually allowing players to alter maps the way they like (e.g. adding custom stairs to battlegrounds)

APIs are different as well, some blocked, some others allowed

the 1.12.1 client is in no way "bad", it's actually incredibly good compared to other games

If it was worth the trouble, don't you think they would have done it in the first place?
