why is almost everyone a prick? Reminds me off when I played runescape in middle school

I only got three really mean people. 2 ninjad an item and one came up looted a chest while we fought the boss and ran away.
But most people are quite nice. I even did AN ENTIRE GNOMERUN TODAY. All eight quests. Not many people would stick around for two hours of killing gnomes.

I personally haven't ran into any douchebags. Then again it is all the company you keep. If you stay talking and get a feel for the group, you will know sooner rather than later. Also keeping your ignore list up for the general chat people can prevent you from being in their groups

If a game is free it usually has a really shitty community for the most part due to a few things 1) if you get banned / ruin ur reputation you dont have to shell out money to start anew 2) younger / poorer people can afford to play leading to a higher population and thus more bad apples.

Also the majority of people aren't overly nice or mean in their experiences with most people so they don't stick out at all. The dick heads however will always stick out in your mind.
