Trading gold from PVP to PVE

Hi, first and foremost, is this legal?
Secondly, I got 1k gold on horde PVP and wanna trade it for gold on the PVE.

That happens on retail, happens here and gms probably knows most of the time but no one cares. Its just a trade. No big deal in my opinion.

Except the GMs here have explicitly stated it's a bannable offense.
