Hello Bit,

first at all: That addon is great!

But I have a question, is there a way to view your addon in full screen?

Not really. The table layout is copied exactly from retail TSM and I'll just stick with their design decisions there, and update it when they update it. It's the most popular retail AH addon after all.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean it can't be improved, in this case I'm ok with either way, because both ways have their pros and cons, but be careful when using that kind of argument

TyrantRC wrote:...., Can you add something to see total bid and total buyout prices when not doing it with the alt key?

You should almost never need to even look at the unit price at all because the percentage column already gives you almost the same information.

read this:
Dish wrote:Isn't the percentage only for the buyout price though? It seems useless if you want to bid on items instead of buyout.

If you want to check the price of the full bid there is no way around, now you need to right click the column because it doesn't even show anywhere when you press the normal bid button at the bottom of the window. Before you would show like a semitransparent window showing the full bif or full price when not pressing alt in your right/left click, you should probably put that back, that was really useful, don't fix something is not broke pls.

Maybe instead of adding more columns or adding that feature you removed again you could instead show the bid information in one mode or the buyout information in the other mode. Right now is:

Item|Lvl|Auctions|Stack size|Time left|Auction Bid(per item)|Auction Buyout(per item)|%Market Value

Item|Lvl|Auctions|Stack size|Time left|Auction Bid(per stack)|Auction Buyout(per stack)|%Market Value

you could change it to:

Item|Lvl|Auctions|Stack size|Time left|Auction Bid(per item)|Auction Bid(per stack)|%Market Value

Item|Lvl|Auctions|Stack size|Time left|Auction Buyout(per item)|Auction Buyout(per stack)|%Market Value

because you never really go into the AH and check bids and buyouts at the same time, you usually check bids for one item and then you check buyout after finishing or vice-versa. I still think you should add that feature again, no reason to remove it when its actually useful.

Bit wrote:
TyrantRC wrote:but the bid one is not there or its just bugged because it sometimes works and bid automatically or sometimes just buy the item???

As far as I can tell the only time it doesn't work is when you're either the high bidder or the owner of the auction.
It buys the item when the bid price is the same as the buyout price (which can't be prevented, that's how the blizzard api works).

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a bug here then, this was exactly the cause why I was asking for a confirmation price before buying/bidding without alt key, I alt left click in the search table and it buys it, and if I alt right click it sometimes it buys it and sometimes it bids for it, and yeah I know about the buyout items that you bid for more than the buyout price, is not that. Will check carefully later to see if I find how does it happens.

I don't understand. If you use the discard modifier nothing is shown in the table. It's pretty much exactly the same as /aux scan. Won't use more memory either. The only difference is the progress is shown with the bar instead of chat messages.

I understand my confusion now. I was using this checkbox before:

not using the keyword manually in the search bar:

what does the checkbox do? it doesn't seem to do the same thing

Bit wrote:After the next update the table will be limited to 1000 entries so you won't even need discard anymore, just a plain filterless search.

So you will not be able to scan the full AH? just the first 20 pages?, that sound like fixing something is not broke

What?

MearFreak wrote:which means "?" in the new version?

It means you don't have a lot of data yet so the price is unreliable (will disappear when you have seen the item on 5 or more days)

Adelmut wrote:Hello Bit,

No, but it's an interesting idea. Would probably take quite a lot of tweaking to make it look good though.

TyrantRC wrote:Just because something is popular doesn't mean it can't be improved, in this case I'm ok with either way, because both ways have their pros and cons, but be careful when using that kind of argument

The argument isn't that it's perfect but that it's good enough. Designing a good GUI is very difficult, especially if design isn't really your trade, and simply implementing every request isn't generally a good way to go about it, you need some sort of unified vision. I cannot dedicate my whole life to this addon so I think copying that part from them is a good trade-off.

TyrantRC wrote:what does the checkbox do? it doesn't seem to do the same thing

Yes it does, for me at least. The filter tab in general doesn't do anything other than put text into the search box.

TyrantRC wrote:So you will not be able to scan the full AH? just the first 20 pages?, that sound like fixing something is not broke

You can, but only the first 1000 results will be listed in the table. If you don't want anything in the table you can use discard like before.

Dish wrote:Isn't the percentage only for the buyout price though? It seems useless if you want to bid on items instead of buyout.

True, I guess then you need the unit price. Guess the reasoning is that most people don't bother with bidding so the layout isn't optimized for that. In fact, I think they only recently added support for bidding at all in TSM. Auctionator still doesn't do it afaik.

TyrantRC wrote:If you want to check the price of the full bid there is no way around, now you need to right click the column because it doesn't even show anywhere when you press the normal bid button at the bottom of the window. I'll think about it but I'd really rather keep the table in sync with TSM.

Maybe, but I think it's very unlikely. I tested it yesterday with like 100 bids on peacebloom, light leather, murloc eyes etc. and it only bought the ones where buyout and bid were the same. It checks very thoroughly that the auction you buy is exactly the same as the one you've selected. If you really find a bug there it'll be highest priority to fix of course.

It's still there. Right click on the price column header.

Ok I tested for 2 days already this and I think is fine, If I have to guess I think it was my brain being all fucked up because I think you changed the way it was, before it was alt+rightclick to automatically buy the item and alt+left click to bid on it, now is right to bid and left to buy, which I think you should change back because you already have a format in your table which is the button and the columns in the search section

Also any possibility you make it more obvious when you can't bid for an item in the table, before you would grey out that row if you already have a bid on it or if you couldn't bid on it for whatever reason, now you greyout only the button which is also grey in is normal state :/, really hard to see or notice
