Regarding a Perma-Ban

Regarding a Perma-Ban

Hey there! I'm here on behalf of my little brother -Evilneverdie-Lvl 60 UD Rogue

I personally never post here, sometimes hover, mainly because, why would I have to? So if I'm in the wrong place, please let me know!

My little brother, plain and simple, can be a numbskull. He's not always to bright.
About a week ago, he was playing on his rogue; Evilneverdie, and he ran into a bug. The bug being he was able to run on water in STV. Being the stoner he is, instead of leaving it be, or reporting it, he decided to PvP.

I logged on after getting home from work, get into Teamspeak and WoW, and he's talking
"Oh man come here! I found this spot where I can run on water! I've been merking noobs for a bit now!"

Shaking my head, I reply something like "First off, you have a serious advantage, noob (rogue + water running, c'mon, I'm a realist). Not only that, you're exploiting, no better than the shitty blindspotters in Tanaris. You're gonna get reported and in trouble."

He responds with a "Fuck bro, you're right man, I'm peacing, wanna do something?" And that was that.

Next day I come home from work again, see all my brothers and buddies in teamspeak. He tells me he got Perma Banned. I said it "It's a free private WoW server, they don't take that shit. But Perma-ban?"

A ban is deserved imho, that exploiting shit destroys the magic of the game.

Permanent ban, for someone who was having fun (in the wrong way yes), is a bit severe. It's not as if he exploits constantly, or ever. He found a bug, was stoned, didn't really click that it was wrong.

He's not a toxic member of the community, he's well liked, a lot of fun. Completely leveled toon, professions, riding skills, AV rep. With his kids playing with him, us all playing together across the country, it's great.
He's no ninja, gold farmer, racist, spammer, hacker, AFKer, etc. that you still see happen, and are still playing.

Whether you consider me biased or not because he is family, it was a 1 time mistake.
I'm asking for a reconsideration on his accounts standings. Temporary ban is deserved, and make him think before he does something stupid after all the hard work he put into his toon. Permanent is a bit harsh.

Thank you for the consideration, and time

Cool story.

Bottom line is he cheated and got banned. And since he also admitted cheating there is no appeal available.

He can create a new account if he stick to the rules this time.

Your brother was indeed permanently banned for the violations that you described. Since he did not report this issue by making a ticket, we cannot know whether he legitimately encountered a bug or was using 3rd party tools to achieve it. Furthermore, he abused the bug by engaging in PvP. As Mimma said, his only option for now is to create a new account.

The GM team.
