My Account got banned?

Hi,

i think my account got banned. When I try to log in it says "this world of warcraft account has benn closed and is no longer available for use." I can log in on the homepage, but there is no information about my ban.
The only thing i can imagine as a reason for my ban is, that a guild member gave me a green item. I'm lv 19, if i remember correctly, but the item requires lv 40 or something. Maybe some script has been used to ban every player that has an item, which is too high for him?
He didn't sold it to me or anything. And who would buy a green item for real money anyway. Please consider unbanning my account and remove the item, if it really was the problem.
Could a GM please look into this?
