Joining a guild early ?

Just considering applying to a guild posted in the forum threads but is it worth it ? will you miss out on spots when you reach 60 and start looking ? how do you know the guild wont fall through

Really you can't know how a guild will do. Chances are all the early guilds will fail eventually, but it might be worth joining them while you level. Once you reach 60 within a reasonable time frame that others do there will be opportunities for you to join a good raiding guild.

At the very least you will have another outlet to find groups for dungeons and get to make some connections while you work your way up, if it doesn't work out then its really no big loss. As shady as it may sound if enough people hit 60 at roughly the same time these types of guild can be great for getting attunements done and farming BiS with.

Look at it this way:
What do you lose by joining a guild early? Nothing.
What do you gain by joining a guild early? Potential new contacts, you wouldn't otherwise have gotten, potential dungeon groups you otherwise wouldn't have gotten, potential pre-raid gearing groups, potential raiding guild eventually.
Are you certain to gain anything by joining a guild? No absolutely not. But you have a potential of gaining quite a lot, and in the absolute worst case scenario, you will have lost nothing. I like those odds.
