Some do trigger the security. But as you can lurk around the Account Issues thread, there was a wave of unbanned accounts for legit gold transfers.

They shoudnt be banned in 1st place. They need be sure is gold sellers, they not working good by mass banning then waiting peoples explanation.

I have gifted gold to friends a number of times without issues, and I dont think it is a problem. What legit worries me is that any association with bought gold is bannable. How can I trade with anyone if that is the case? I'd really love a confirmation by GMs what kind of association with "illegal" gold is bannable.

I think friend #1 buys gold and shares gold with friend #2 and #3 without saying its bought gold. Meanwhile #2 and #3 maybe share some gold with others too, which results in a wave of people banned because they all touched the bloodmoney.

That's not how things ever work on private servers. They have to go with a ban first, appeal second process or there would be way too many people getting g away with buying gold. Can you imagine the process that you're asking for, where the staff would basically have to ask permission to ban people?

Hello,

I won't go much in details regarding how we detect gold traffickers, for security reasons, but this is what you need to know:
Today, the system is half automatized: there is always a human to confirm the ban before it gets applied. Every day, we have between 10 and 200 accounts banned for gold trafficking, and more than 50 characters banned for doing ingame advertising.

Gold trafficking includes for example:
- Characters used by gold selling websites
- Characters who bought gold from these websites
- Farmers who are selling their gold to these websites

In particular, trading money in a legit way is of course allowed, and you should not worry about it (on the contrary, if you try to hide some of your actions from the detector, you may end being marked as suspicious ...).

As we understand that mistakes can happen, every banned account may appeal the ban during a short period of time after it has been issued. In that case, we review the ban a second time and confirm it or remove it (which can happen sometimes).

Regards,
Daemon.

I would think you'd need to trade hundreds or thousands of gold before you look suspicious. Seems ridiculous that you'd be banned trading 50g to a friend.
