Can my char be moved from PvP to PvE?

I've seen that character copy is coming for TBC which I know is quite a while away, but I'm wondering if character copy could work in place of transfer, as I read somewhere that character transfer isn't a thing but I'm not sure if that's because people think they could get another character from website and server like feenix, for example. I have a character I got quite far with on the PvP server but a lot of my friends have moved to PvE and are already in their 30s. If not I guess it's time for the ultimate grind.
