I have no idea what's going on or why people would call this trolling or needing a lock. This is a discussion, you are the only one's trolling this thread. I've said multiple times this would be a separate server.

I didn't think I would need to reword my post.

I am curious as to whether or not Vanilla WoW players would still be interested in the experience if more contet was developed in the exact same vein as Vanilla WoW.

No new raids or changing of tuning,
No additional expansions,
No increased level caps,
No professions.

I am talking about additional quest chains in the world as it exists now, as well as additional race or class options. These would follow the same design mechanics that Vanilla WoW followed.

My thought process stands currently that most servers are incapable of doing this. Nostalrius is the only server, or group of servers, with owners who know enough about Vanilla WoW and understand the feeling of Vanilla WoW to actually create additional content that could come close to feeling legitimate and actually being polished like the original game without just slapping on more and more expansions like retail has done.

This would take place on a new server, for the sake of preserving Blizzlike/Retail Vanilla WoW, the original servers would never be touched.

The vast majority of players who played Vanilla WoW were interested in seeing Ogres on the Horde, and felt Blood Elves should have had their counterpart, the High Elves, go to the Alliance during Burning Crusade. That's the only reason I mentioned those two races. And I mentioned races particularly because I enjoy the leveling experience of Vanilla WoW, and want to play Vanilla WoW with a new race. Not The Burning Crusade, not Cataclysm, but Vanilla WoW. So that's my logic behind that.

In addition to that i find it unsettling that you don't seem to understand this project at all. I thought it was made perfectly clear that this is a replica classic server one for one. Its called nostalrius for a reason. "Oh this is so nostalgic, remember the days when we used to vist the ogre starting area and run about with our high elf characters" - said no one ever.

Thank you for the semi-real reply. Nostalgia for me is feeling similar feelings to the past, but I don't feel Nostalgia for Vanilla WoW because it's never gone anywhere.

So, you don't like the idea of Vanilla themed content additions, which is, in general, content that keeps with the feel of the original game and adds a small thing here or there to keep longevity/life in the project without compromising it, and would totally and entirely quit as soon as something was released that wasn't Vanilla retail? The concept here is one race per faction, plus questing for levels 1-10. Then either race would release to it's respective 10-20 faction zone. And this isn't an idea for a main Nostalrius server, more like Vanilla with a little extra. I've never seen any server be able to do this, or properly implement this and still make it feel legitimate.

How long do you see yourself playing pure Vanilla? Another 10 years, or another 20 years doing the same quests on the same characters and classes? Do you think you will be on this realm in 2030? By that point you'd have to be deleting characters to make new ones, though. This is assuming absolutely nothing changes about the game and it is the same as Vanilla.

Are you arguing that adding 2 new lvl1-10 zones and 2 new races would give people a newfound
enthusiasm for the game? 1-10 is like 1½-2 hours /played extra

People would rather have the dev team focus on creating new content (4 months untill AQ  ) than have
them waste time on custom content.
I think you're underestimating how much work implementing 2 new zones with quests would be, they would even have to create new lore in those quests.
They would also have to create brand new racials

Bad idea, try again on reddit

Greetings,

we have no intention of deviating from the vanilla WoW in such a drastic manner that you suggest.
