The concept of the "Expansion Pack" is outdated. For one thing, Expansion implies that the previous content is still there & part of the game, however it was expanded upon - after Cata, the previous content was permanently removed, therefore it's disingenuous to say the content is still there. They replaced it with something else, something that's makes it more palatable to today's game market but definitely not the original content.

For another thing, the "pack" term used to mean additional removable media you could buy at the store and put in a bag to take home with you. Since Cata, it is just a file you download without leaving your chair. There is no pack. (These kids today - Get off my lawn!)
