I watched the entire video. There is a lot of ranting and not well structured, but that is fine unless you are an experienced content creator. You do touch different topics, so I'll segment my response accordingly.
First off: Nost/Blizzard actions
Co-operating with Blizzard. If you have followed the Nost posts, you would know that they have tried to communicate with and offered ideas/solutions for technical problems. However, they basically had 6 months of the silent treatment from Blizzard after "the meeting", and I'm quite sure they didn't decide on this over a few days of anger. A lot of thought of what might happen would go through any rational mind when making big decisions, Nost folks included.
So impulsive, no.
Unadvicable, perhaps. It does put Blizzard in an awkward spot. They did kind of put themselves there, but nontheless they are there now. The legal aspects are interesting and actually not crystal clear. I'd argue there might be a legal battle to be won regarding legacy, but it is not a battle I advice. The cost of losing is to high.
Second: Your idea of legacy
You are basically wanting a new game inside the legacy world. If you have followed the legacy scene at all, you would know most people, at least those that express opinions, want that "broken" game. You are asking for a complete rebalance of the game, and that would change it A LOT. Dungeon balance, PvP, raid compositions, everything. You are simply not asking for legacy anymore.
Lastly, you are speaking as someone who mainly play legion and just do a bit of legacy on the side. Many people in the legacy world do not/dont want to play current retail. I understand you dont have a problem waiting few years, you are not really waiting anyway.
Some have waited for legacy for almost as long as you have been playing the game. Can you blame them for not trusting Blizzard will come through, considering Blizzard for the longest time even refused to acknowledge players even wanted it.
Who am I who is answering this?
I played retail from patch 1.5 or so, hardcore raided in TBC and had my first drop-out at Wrath, sad about the changes in healing. I played some in the end of Wrath anyway, and very little in Cata. I played a serious amount on Nost and do not agree on your visions on legacy, and most people playing playing on legacy servers probably dont either.
Outside of not currently playing on Nost (for obvious reasons) I play hearthstone, board games and is an unemployed law-degree holder (yes, we do exist).
