If reserving stuff in dungeons isn't your thing, then the best way I can think of is 2-manning DME (yourself + a healer). You kill Hydrospawn, Zevrim and Alzzin and mine the rich thorium in exit tunnel for arcane crystals. Need to have both mining and enchanting in the group (doesn't matter who has which). The cash is very good though not easily tangible (the main bulk is large brilliant shards which you need to sell, not easy at all )

This is probably your best option, having your money invested in tradegoods for future use is never bad, unless you need the gold right now ofc, but selling those things a bit below market price for a quick deal would still make this very profitable.
If you're decently geared and a decent player with decent groupmates Orb runs still deserves an honorable mention.

I think you're limited on 5 Instance resets - but not sure

Normally, you are limited to 5 instances per our. For example if you farmed deadmines you could only do it 5 times.

However with scarlet monastary you can do all four instances. Run Graveyard, Cathedral, Armory and Library. THEN reset after you did those four. You can do all four 5 times each per hour since they share the same instance lock. 5x4 = 20.
This is 100% blizzlike since the beginning and is still this way on retail today.

I don't know how to explain any simpler than that.

This is not entirely true if it's like live was. The skill level 190-195 plans were always super rare on live (steel weapon chain, enchant shield-lesser block, etc.) and about the only place you could ever find them was the SM chests.
